COMMENTS
Likes: The big thing I like about the Hammer Infection is that it does not overlap with any ball that is currently in my bag. It fits right in between Taboo and Plague for me perfectly. I am 8 boards left of my straighter line with the Plague playing the same breakpoint with a similar breakpoint shape. INFECTION is not overly angular off the breakpoint so I can hold on to my Jigsaw Trap when I want an sharper angle on longer/heavier patterns. Conversely INFECTION is not as smooth off the breakpoint as the Taboo. When the Taboo begins to pick up the lanes too soon, I can make the move the Infection and stay put with my feet.
Dislikes: I have yet to find a dislike about the Infection. The motion is very similar to that of the Original Black Widow in my opinion. If I still had a Black Widow in my bag, I would have to think about putting it away. Luckily I don't have that problem right now.

LANE CONDITION
Pattern Type: 39' House Shot, PBA Viper pattern, Kegel Middle of the Road
Likes: The Infection reads the mid lanes very well and has a very continuous ball motion through the backend of the patterns. The Infection is cleaner through the fronts with strong midlane & continous backend than the Plague. This ball compliments the Taboo very well as I think that it is a smoother ball motion throughout the whole lane than the Taboo. My Taboo is much stronger overall and when that ball is too strong, I pull out the Infection and I can keep striking all day long.
Dislikes: There are really no dislikes as I was a little worried since I didn't match up well with the Plague, but the reaction of the Infection eases my mind and I look forward to using this ball in many tournaments to come.
The Infection is a GREAT addition to the Hammer line and I think that it fits great with the Taboo & Brawl ball motions. If you liked the Plague ball, you will LOVE the Infection better.
Let me know if there are any questions that you may have with this ball.

BALL REACTION
Both balls had a smooth roll with good reaction. The arc was very controllable but distinct. Ball 1 was longer because of polish but held up as lanes transitioned on all patterns. Ball #2 Need some head oil and hold through the mid-lane.
COMMENTS
Likes: The Infection is going to be a favorite of many bowlers. You get the early mid lane roll woth strong arc through the back. Carry was good on all patterns but needs to have a little mid lane hold in order to stay where you are. Easy to chase the line but would prefer polished for most shots as the pattern track gives way. Great ball for mid level player or bowlers from low to mid revs. Higher rev players will need to move over and get on it.

LANE CONDITION
Volume: Medium to Heavy
Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): US Open Pattern
Likes: This ball for me is a perfect match with the Taboo. It rolls a little sooner but really rolls thru the pins. I was going to drill another Taboo to roll a little sooner but this stacked layout is the ticket.
Dislikes: The videos that I looked didn't quite reflect what I see. I thought it would be alot more angular than the plague and it just seems to roll earlier with the same layout in both balls.

Likes: This ball is a great compliment in my arsenal. Currently goes great after my Taboo has broken down the lanes. It gets through the heads and continuously finishes. Just like any ball, this needs to be thrown on the right conditions. I've been using it out of the box and can't complain at all

After being thoroughly intrigued by the Plague, I decided to pull the trigger and drill up an Infection to try out.
Here are the specs:
Ball specs....
Pre-drill
Gross wt: 15-4
Top Wt: 2-3/4 oz
Pin: 2-3"
Layout: 60 x 5-1/4 x 75 , small P3 hole
Post drill:
Gross wt: 15-1
Side: 3/8 oz pos
Thumb: 3/4 oz
Top: 3/4 oz
Surface.....OOB
This gives me a pin under bridge with mass bias strong, cg kicked out of line to the left about 3/4".
What I am seeing is a very strong roll in the midlane and a strong yet controlled breakpoint. The Infection seems to respond very well to hand position and rev rate changes. Our house shot is a bit heavier than most and does not have the huge wall as seen in a lot of centers.
The Infection is playable on this shot for me, even in the 3rd game. The Infection responds very well to speed and hand position changes. I have been able to play up the outside, play tight inside, swing the ball inside out and everything in between. The ball is incredibly versatile and the carry is incredible.
This could very well be the best ball I have drilled up in years.
LANE CONDITION
Volume: medium

Dislikes: coverstock does glaze up fairly quickly

Likes:I just purchased an Infection last week and have to say this is the ball to get for anyone looking to play long and hard. This ball is all about heavy hook in the back end. This ball is versatile and does give you options. I had the ball drilled according to Hammer's recommendation for skid/flip drilling.

Likes:I have mine drilled with the pin under ring finger and mass bias about two inches from thumb. I really like the reaction I get from this ball down the lane. It gets through the heads okay, reads the mid lane very well and makes a very strong move in the back without being to angular. Very continuous motion through the pins with excellent carry. With this drilling I would say it's a little stronger overall than my pin up Taboo with better mid lane read.

Dislikes: its not more agressive than my virtual energy, i expecting more reaction in fresh oil, but not, i going to try changing the surface to take a better look in fresh conditions.

Likes:The Infection is easier through the fronts than the Plague with a very controllable strong arc. I love the strong arc finish making it one of my first choices out of the bag. If you're looking for a benchmark type of ball, this is a safe choice.
Dislikes: Doesn't get as far down the lane as I first expected, but has quickly replaced my Plague as ball of choice after Taboo starts up too early.
