LANE CONDITION

Length: 41'

Volume: Medium

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

COMMENTS

We used the Rip'D Solid on our house shot pattern (Main Street, 41') and we found the Rip'D Solid to be a tad stronger for this pattern.

We had to deep since the beginning to find a good line to the pocket. The Rip'D Solid provides a strong midlane read and a smooth and continuous motion when it hits the friction. We were able to make parallel moves to chase the oil when the ball started to hook early and the ball offered plenty of recovery even with the rough surface this ball has out of the box.

We compared the Rip'D Solid with the Rip'D and they are a great combo. We think Hammer did a great thing releasing both balls at the same time since they complement each other so well.

The Rip'D is cleaner through the front part of the lane and it has more shape down the lane than the Rip'D Solid. Once the Rip'D Solid reads the lane too early, the Rip'D will be the ball to go to open up the lane and have more recovery down the lane.

Overall, the Rip'D Solid is the strongest ball in the Hammer lineup. We feel that this ball might be too much ball for some bowlers to be used on a house shot. Low rev and speed dominant bowlers will find in the Rip'D easy revs and a consistent reaction to use on fresh house shot patterns.

The Rip'D Solid easily creates hook through the oil and it has a strong and continuous motion down the lane. This ball will be a great option for sport shot patterns and heavier oil conditions.

Thank you for watching!

The Rip'D Solid is a great addition to the Hammer line.  The Aggression CFI Coverstock is one of the strongest covers I have seen in the line.  This balls picks up in the mid lane and has a continuous motion through the pin deck.  Also, this ball hits hard.  I have had success with this ball on Medium to Heavy volume conditions.

The Rip'd Solid is incredible!!!  Year to date it is the strongest mid-lane ball in my bag.  I drilled mine with a 4 inch pin to pap and a 70 degree VAL angle to get a smoother reaction off the spot on the fresh of the shorter and higher ml patterns.  The ball is absolutely phenomenal!!!  Completely predictable with a controlled motion.  I'm so impressed by the ball over all that I've decided to drill another 55 x 5 x 35 to increase the length allitle as well as the backend motion.  Don't wait on this ball.  Get to your local pro shop and get your hands on one.  The Rip'd Solid is a must have in the bag!!!!

Likes: THIS IS A MONSTER!   You got Oil?   You need Hook?  This is your ball.  Don't be fooled though - This ball is clean through the fronts and man oh man - does it pick up in the midlane and turns hard.  Such a smooth ball.  It has lots of power and transitions through the lane very evenly and smooth - -But STRONG!

If this ball starts to go high - you go to the Rip'd and stay in the same place and get the same motion.  AWESOME 1-2 punch!

Likes:  Great ball for fresh off the start or heavier oil pattern.  Good for League/Sport/PBA patterns.  I drilled 40 x 4 1/2 x 35, 4000 abralon with Clean N Sheen.

Dislikes:  I'm a High Rev, medium to slower speed player.  I need polish and more volume up front.  Medium to heavy is when this ball is best.

3 testers - 2 patterns

http://tamerbowling.com/hammer-ripd-solid-bowling-ball-review/

Excerpt:
No question, the Rip’D Solid is a big strong ball. It’s got an aggressive cover with a big core. That is a natural recipe for heavy oil if you want all that to store enough energy to hit strong and continuously. On the house shot, all testers felt like there was a decent look but it would go away quickly as the lanes broke down. Sean and I would find this ball too much to start with on the house shot. Bryan could start with it to even out the lanes and quickly go to the the Rip’D. On the sport shot, it definitely showed it’s colors, providing the control everyone wants and needs early in a set when the shot is fresh. Sean would want more volume and more length to start with the Solid. I can start with the Rip’D solid on this shot fresh. The Rip’D Solid would definitely be first out of the bag for Bryan on this. All in all, it’s clear that the Rip’D is a strong continuous ball and with the right volume, it’s going to be a beast. You have to be wary of when it’s passed it’s sweet spot and then quickly jump to the Rip’D. I think it was smart of Hammer to release both pieces giving fans two options with the new stuff, avoiding lots of mixing and matching.
