I drilled up the Big Block Diesel, Razor Blade, and the Vibe with the same layout. I put the pin 3 1/2 inches from my PAP (positive axis point) and the cg 4 inches.

I found the Razor Blade to work best on heavier oil partterns. With the layout that I used, the ball was clean through the fronts, then picked up a midlane around 37-40 feet. You will have the familiar roll pattern of the Blade series, but with more overall hook than any other to day. The ball motion at the break point is sharper than other Blade series balls that I have thrown. I used this on a 43 foot Heavier Oil Sport pattern and this ball was very good. It was able to handle the heavy oil volume and still give me the bit that I need at the pocket.

The Hammer Razor Blade is another solid addition to the Hammer line-up. When you need a mid-price ball that can cut through the heavy stuff, make sure that you don't over look this ball.

Great ball. Needs to be kept in the oil.Very controllable like a urethane blue hammer but with the extra power and drive at the pins.Dont use on dry or it will hook early.This is the best blade for oil and hooks the most of the series.Pin above ring finger,cg 2 inches right of center,x hole.For me this ball works better on oil than my vicious particle and real deal.If you throw fast or have trouble with heavy oil this one will not skid past the break point like most other so called oil balls.Great ball and low price.

This ball has a 3 1/2" pin Drilled 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" with the pin 1 1/2" above the VAL and 2 1/4" above the midline. I only threw 8-10 shots on a sport shot that had appx 16 games on the lanes. Playing up the boards the ball got good length and made a huge move to the pocket. It Carried some light and heavy hits. I only threw a couple shots on a deep line and really can't give the ball a fair review for that line. . More to follow once I use the ball in competition.

I used the ball on a league shot tonight7/28, shot 686. I was impressed with the reaction of the ball . Played 14 to 8 and the ball makes a strong move to the pocket. I only had to move 5 boards deeper all night.

Came back and bowled league 7/29 played the same line  I played on 7/28  opened up with a 237.   Decided to play a little deeper for games 2 and 3 (17 out to 8) and the ball seemed to have trouble kicking out the 10 pin.  Needless to say my sparemaking left alot to be desired  but I ended up + 15 for the night with 3 opens in games 2 and 3.

A definite keeper

Just Drilled the Razor Blade today, and it is a great ball. More hook then i expected with the layout. I wanted something for the PBA scorpion pattern, as I plan to bowl the TQR when the come to my house in December. It is layed out to roll early and setup down the lane. Very smooth and hits great. My first and not last Hammer ball! I will update when i bowl on the pattern next weds night.

Likes: This ball is great in oil. I like the powerful hook it has in oil. the ball roles clean through the front of the lane. I bowled some scores of 198 265, 258 277, and 235. Great ball.

This ball doesn't even seem like it's rolling down the lanes, however when it makes it turn into the pocket it blows the pins away. The ball motion of this ball seems to be sharper than the other Blade series balls such as, the Sling Blade, Sharp Blade, Switch Blade, and Saw Blade. If you are looking for a mid-price ball that can cut through the heavy oil, make sure you have a Razor Blade in you arsenal.

I have had this ball since June '05, but never got around to reviewing it. This ball is simply amazing. It is the first Hammer ball I have tried since Ebonite took them over. Layout is 4 1/2 X 6. This layout gives me mid-lane flare with a tame back end. I then topped it off with a light coat of polish. The Razor Blade is extremely versatile. I can use it on almost any shot put in front of me. I have used it on a frequent basis since June, and placed it in a rejunevator around September, and it is still rolling strong and hitting hard.
