Title: Redemption Hybrid
Post by: BallReviews-scodaddy21 on August 06, 2020, 09:12:54 AM
Redemption is a beautiful thing and even better when we are talking about a high-performance Hammer bowling ball. The Hammer Redemption Hybrid ball offers a shiny version of the successful ball that fits perfectly between the Solid and Pearl versions. With the combination of the Redemption core and the Aggression NE Hybrid coverstock, this ball offers a great overall hook. This bowling ball utilizes DOT and is Carbon Fiber Infused! DOT allows you to drill anywhere on the ball and offers toughness to the ball. Carbon fiber is one of the toughest materials on earth. Hammer decided to add this material to the outer core of this ball for added strength and durability allowing them to offer an incredible 2 year warranty.

Likes: The Redemption Hybrid is a nice step down from the Redemption Solid. It was about a 3 or 4 board move right with my feet and is cleaner through the front part of the lane. Like the solid it still reads the friction well and has a strong arc without being to sharp. This ball for me is a bit forward rolling which should help blend out league night wet/dry conditions.

The Redemption Hybrid is a very strong hybrid ball, probably one of the strongest hybrids I have thrown in awhile.  Ball gets the front pretty clean and starts to pick up a early roll and comes off the pattern with a wicked angular backend motion.  This ball will be great for a variety of tough sport patterns

The Redemption Hybrid is a nice addition to the Redemption line. The ball is clean through the fronts and still has the Redemption response at the break point just like the Solid and Pearl. I find myself about 4-5 boards right of where I would be with the Redemption Solid. Bowlers with higher rev rates will have a lot of success with this ball.

Likes: I drilled my Hammer Redemption hybrid a little different than my typical layout for my Redemption's. I wanted to see if this ball cover and core would compliment my Widow Pink with the same layout. The Redemption core is similar to the Widow line core and with the cover being different, I was hoping for a similar reaction with a little more smoothness down lane. My pin was under my middle finger and the cg was swung placing my mass bias next to my thumb on the strong side. this ball was perfect and met all of my expectations and then some.

By far the most versatile Redemption in the line. Get one or be left behind!

Likes:I am very pleased with this new piece in the Redemption line.  I used it fresh out of the box during matchplay at the PBA50 Regional in Grants Pass and took home the win.  I hit the cover with a light scuff on the fresh and just saw plain magic.  I never had to give the pocket away as my angles were tight and let the ball do all the work.  This pattern was a bit speed sensitive so the best thing to do was not shove it and just roll it. Keeping the ball right in front of me I could see it save all of it's power going through the rack.   I have it 4 right of my Solid and a bit cleaner and less angular than my Pearl.  What a great piece with coloration that's very easy on the eyes.

Likes:  The Redemption Hybrid for me performed much better on the fresh with a little surface added to the cover.  4 inch pin to pap.  It went a bit too long with the out of box surface.  Once I added the surface it quickly became one of my favorite pieces.  Like all Hammers the Redemption Hybrid never stopped while going thru the pins.  If you don't want to add the surface this would be a great option when the heads start to fry and you need some extra length.  Very heavy rolling ball that seems to really snap that 10 out even when you get a little carry down.  Another winner from Hammer.

I went with a smoother reaction layout with this ball and it is still a stronger motion than I expected.  The Redemption line has been a great success for the Hammer line and this one does not disappoint.  I am able to stay firm with my speed and to the right with this ball, but I can also slow it down and move left too.  There is still plenty of hitting power no matter how the balls finds the headpin.

Talk about the total package, you are talking about the Hammer Redemption Hybrid. The Redemption Hybrid is a GORGEOUS red, white, and navy blue color. Combine the looks with a high performance coverstock and core and it’s all you can ask for in a bowling ball. The intent for the Redemption Hybrid is to fit in between the Redemption Solid and Redemption Pearl. This bowling ball also features DOT technology and an inner and outer core that is infused with carbon fiber.

I drilled my Redemption Hybrid with a slightly different pin up layout then my usual choice. Using a vector system I drilled this 5.5” x 4” x 2” which comes out to 50 x 5.5” x 35 using the dual angle method. I wanted thi bowling ball to be similar to the Brunswick Prism Hybrid which was discontinued as this ball was announced. This ball was a very pleasant surprise, for myself it yielded a more angular motion than I was expecting. The coverstock on this ball out of the box skates through the oil and is more responsive than I was expecting. I have really enjoyed this ball after hitting it lightly with a 2000 siaair pad by hand. It is a bowling ball I feel is very versatile and takes surface changes really well.

In comparison to other bowling balls in the Hammer line the Redemption Hybrid is the most angular Redemption bowling ball, for me. This ball reminds me very much of the Statement Hybrid for those who enjoyed the bowling balls from the EBI plant in Hopskinsville. WIth some surface I generally use this on the fresh, but as it lane shines I really like it when the lanes begin to transition!
