Cherry or Blue Vibe.
« on: January 27, 2008, 02:59:54 PM »
I have been bowling for a year with my 13lb... looking to start throwing 14lb
i have a storm Thunderstruck pearl right now and a spare ball
i wonder which one will be a better choice between Cherry and Blue Vibe
Can you guys throw me with some info about the differences between the balls?
And is Hammer's coverstock durable? I am still in school and not going to buy 5 balls a year.

Well, the blue vibe is going to have a smoother reaction than the cherry vibe. I have both the blue vibe and cherry vibe. For me the blue vibe goes long and arcs hard to the pocket, where as the cherry vibe goes even longer and makes more of a snappy break to the pocket. Both are great balls. I have found the coverstocks on both balls to be very durable. I have over 500 games on the blue vibe and it still hooks like it did when i bought it.

I disagree. I have both and changed the surface on both to 2000 abralon + a light coat of Beans Polish. However the cherry is drilled a little stronger.

The cherry is more angular while the blue is long and arcy. My cherry will handle a little more oil than the blue, but for me they are both good medium oil balls. When the shot starts breaking down the cherry reads really early and thats when I can switch to the blue. It will give me a little extra length and smooth out the break.
