3 Different Hammers, 3 games= 837
« on: December 06, 2006, 02:57:27 PM »
O.K. it was only practice. I went down tonight to try out some new turbo finger inserts. I installed them in a No Mercy, Hawg Zilla and Doom. Results: No Mercy 279; Hawg Zilla 300; Doom 258. Needless to say I loved the inserts...LOL (oh, and the balls were o.k. too!!!).

I gotta get another NM, that ball is sick, sick, sick!!!!!!

Nice shooting! I did something similar the other night also. 3 games with 3 different balls. Pain = 279, Toxic = 258, Doom = 269 for a 806 series. All the balls in the Raw Hammer series are great. The No Mercy is a monster, I rarely find enough oil to warrant its use.

I'll tell ya, I've had more 300's in practice with the Hammers in the past couple months than anything else I've used in the last 5 years.

So far only one this year in league, but lots of 279's and a couple 280's (CHOKE....LOL).

I love to practice and the centers owner cut me a deal because I bowl in 3 leagues there.

Keep up the good work HAMMER...........sure makes my job a lot easier!

LOL.....yep, it's an EASY shot to be sure. To make practice more challenging though I'll often times bring equipment that is not suited for the shot down there (although just about everything will work if you hunt for a line long enough...LOL).

I shot on PBA patterns exclusively this year in a 16 week summer league and it really helped to take my game to a whole different level when playing a wall.

I will say though that this center does mess around with the shot (we had really heavy oil for about 3 weeks and I could not swing the ball to save my life!). But it is known as a jewelry store. Many of the elite bowlers are in our scratch leagues and can really tear 'em up.

But you are correct, my name is what I bowl league on, it's fun but I don't consider my scores/average on it to be a reflection of my true abilities.

"But you are correct, my name is what I bowl league on, it's fun but I don't consider my scores/average on it to be a reflection of my true abilities."

...and that is why I do bowl tournaments and try very hard to not let the scores on a walled condition go to my head (I'm averaging 236 in one league and I've been in a slump for two weeks! LOL!!! Am I a 236 average bowler......hell no, except on a wall, I guess) I am constantly working on various releases and techniques, but sometimes I just practice for fun and to shoot high scores.

The trick to practicing on a walled up shot and actually learning something is to OVERPOWER the shot (just the opposite of what you want to do on a demanding condition) and practice different lines, different releases; work on varying your speed and targeting anywhere from the foul line to 35 feet down the lane.

Shooting league on a soft condition is a blast as long as you don't let it make YOU soft on more difficult tournament conditions.
