No Mercy Beatn, Powerhouse, how to tame
« on: November 28, 2011, 05:59:31 AM »
My No Mercy Beatn!  Nearly the strongest ball I have ever thrown!  Midlane, tons of hook, tons of ANGULAR backend!

A lttle too much for the fresh!

Mine is drilled maximum.  Pin at 4 3/4 and the "Hart" in the track!  Anyone ever try to smooth out/round out the backend of this monster?

Did you use drilling 2 or 3 or 4.  To me 2 looks like drilling #2(Hart 2 inches from track) would be very close to being it!?

Your thoughts?

Regards,

Luckylefty

Try putting more surface on it. Try a fresh 1000 pad. That will make it read the midlanes more and tame down the backends. Hope this helps

Oh, I like the one I have for what it does.

Was considering a second!  Wondered if one of the other drillings would back off on the angularity on the back.

just dull the surface with any pad.. I did this and was never able to get the same look that I had when it was new

tried a ton of different surface changes with scotchbrite and abralons... nothing gave the same read and pop on the backend..

My ball has nearly 3000 games on it.

I have sanded it many a time to 1200 or 1500 and left dull.  when I put the mass bias(HART) in the strong position I create angular backend almost always, unless I am throwing a rock.  I like this ball the way it is.

I was thinking of picking up another one of these monsters and drilling slighly differently to be smoother ...any experts who have tried different drillings on these No Mercy monsters?

You could find the actual psa (mb point) and lay the ball out accordingly for the reaction you desire.
the actual psa is 6 3/4 from the hart and the pin.

Interesting topic.  I picked up a used No Mercy this past week and threw it in league tonight.  I couldn't get far enough left.  It came back from everywhere! This one had a "weak" pin for me (5" to pap above fingers) and the HART in the track.  WOW.

I have not tried one, but have read that moving the HART underneath the thumb really tames the reaction.  Maybe this is comparable to moving the MB on a standard ball from the "strong" or "flip" position to the VAL?

yes .. that is pretty much what it does.... the actual mb marking would be 6 3/4 from the pin and 6 3/4 from the HART.. where those two places intersect is where the MB spot / psa is...
