Well, after drilling two for customers and hearing all the good things about them on here,I finally broke down and drilled a Black Widow today. All I can say is WOW!So far,I've only got to throw it on a broken down, birthday partied, two day old THS(synthetic lanes,41' xmas tree pattern). The ball is more than I had hoped for.It gives me two extra boards of forgiveness to not only hit the hole, but to strike!I haven't had a look like this for a long time.Laid out 5 1/2" pin to pap above middle finger,45 degree mb,no x-hole,box surface(4000 abralon). If I missed left one board,it would still pop the ten out.If I missed right one board,it would set up and crush the pocket!Very, very forgiving!I don't know about where you bowl, but we normally have two boards at the arrows to hit the pocket, and only one of them strikes! So to have a ball double my area is incredible! This is my first experience with the Gas Mask core, but based off of the reaction i'm getting,it won't be the last!

C300,Bowling is a game of percentages.Everything we do from the approach to the delivery is done to increase our chance of hitting the pocket and getting a strike.A properly timed approach and delivery increases your chance of getting a strike. It increases your area.It increases your margin of error.
Another way we increase our chances is by proper bowling ball selection. If this were not true,we would only need one ball for every condition! The coverstock, surface, and weight block create area or give us a bigger margin of error to still hit the pocket and get a strike.
When I say the Black Widow gave me two extra boards on that condition,on that day;it gave me more area!
If you don't understand this concept, you are missing one of the most important parts of bowling today.Matching up.
Look at it this way,if we were bowling on a heavily oiled conditon and you were only allowed to use a plastic ball with a pancake weight block and highly polished:and I could use a particle coverstock with a dynamic core, dull.Who do you think would have more area?
If a bowling ball could not give us more area, there would be no need for more than one type of ball, there would probably be only one ball company, and pro shops would be almost non existent!

on a long medium pattern my widow gave me 2-3 boards area but it was all mid lane no backend or not much.I found it better to play straighter, harder.the ball carried very good when I hit the hole it was an x.on a fresh medium ths, more oil up front and striped backends this ball is crazy how much area and backend it had, about ten boards of area to play with and strike.not that I miss my mark by that much but it was the first night with this ball and I was really playing around seeing what it would do.so far I have five games on it and I've read that it only gets better.

I dun know how you can say a ball creates area.. since it's mearly the easyness of the oil pattern. Maybe the ball will carry better when it hits the pocket, but a ball itself can't create area.

Throw the ball on a flat lane pattern.. or any ball.. and your going to have 2-3 board of area at 60' as long as your balls hits amazing. So really it's not the ball when it boils down to basics.

But I do like mine.. amazing length for a solid, and such a backend snap it's ridiculous.

Actually, I kinda disagree.  If I spend 10 mins during shadow practice and bowl up the 7-10 board with a 500 grit or lower ball, I can increase my area by those 3 boards and bump off of it all night.
