Diesel Line
« on: September 22, 2003, 03:17:11 AM »
Is the Diesel line---Particle <heavy oil>, Turbo Reactive <medium>  and Reactive Pearl <light/dry> a good line of balls to use together as an arsenal?  Do they overlap to much?  I'd like to drill all of them the same to see the same reaction.  I've done this in the past very easy to read. Suggestions would be appreciated.

I am a male righthanded bowler good revs, med speed, can vary axis tilt, can play in and out.

Thanks,
Scott

I have used the Turbo Diesel and it hooks quite a bit, more than some people will tell you. I actually have a friend that has Diesel Particle and my Turbo hooks more than his, but the again, that could be the drilling, style etc. I just like the way the Turbo Diesel hits and carries. Very nice..

To answer your question, YES, you could use those 3 balls as an arsenal, but don't be afraid to try the Blade lines as well. The Sling Blade is an awesome ball and would be a good medium-light oil ball as well.

Good luck..

I have mine all drilled differently but they don't even come close to overlapping.

Diesel Particle 4.5 x 4.5
Turbo 5.5 x 6
reactive pearl 3 x 5

not that the diesel particle is the biggest hooking ball on the planet but it is one of the most consistant balls I've ever had the pleasure to take money home with.I throw lane 1,storm and I won this ball off a raffel and it dose everything lane 1 promises.I put my carbide in the closet and never looked back.if you can get you're hands on one,get it!awesome ball!
The harder I try the harder they fall

It's not how much more one ball hooks than another that's important in an arsenal; it's how much it hooks on which  oil pattern. I have no experience with the Diesel line, yet, but I'd bet the Particle will hook more on a TREU heavy oil pattern than the Turbo Diesel, a resin ball. On a medium oil pattern, the Turbo will probably react better, while the Particle will probably burn up in the midlane and hit weakly, if at all. On the Medium-heavy patterns, it might be a toss-up, depending on the drilling and user's ball speed and the exact oil pattern and amount.

99 times out of 100, a pearl resin will outhook a solid resin and the particle version of the same ball on a medium-light just because that is the nature of a pearl's reaction. The solid will use up more of its energy in the heads and midlane. The pearl saves its energy and hooking power for the midlane and the backend.
