Power Diesel
« on: November 24, 2003, 03:17:04 AM »
Just wondering if this ball is available yet.  Based on my experience with it at a Demo Days, I just ordered one today, but the pro shop said the distributor told him they will be in any day now, don't know if they got some and sold them already, or if they haven't got the first shipment yet.  Also noticed it isn't listed on the site, or reviewed by BTM this month.  Just curious.

Just answered my own question by looking at another post, lol.  I see a lot of other people are as equally impressed by this ball as I was, can't wait until it comes in.

I picked one up 2 weeks ago. I was able to use it this week. ball is all midlane and strong. you need some head oil to get it long enough.

The hit is awesome. I bowled on a tough pair with it and shot well. I think that even on a fresh wet/dry, I will need to take the OOB finish up to 1500 or so matte to get a little better reaction.

Like all the diesel line I have thrown, it's all about the midlane read and controlled arcing motion. Hit's hammer hard. Great Buy. Once I get this ball tuned up for My league pattern, I will be putting up some real good numbers.

i'd just like to say omega bowler is absolutly correct, threw this in the demo day. My favorite ball from hammer, best oiler in my opinion, didn't throw big blue... it wasn't there. My younger bro bought one that nite, first leage set he goes front 8 and leaves a stone 10... he average about 160 but the ball gave him tons of area and strong controlled hook w/ tons of hit. great ball for the price point.

I'm interested in hearing as much about the Power Diesel as possible.  I think the Diesel line is great.  I have the Particle Solid and the Particle Pearl.  When I recently shifted from 16# to 15#, I replaced the 16 pounders of both of the above with 15 pounders.  I agree that they are all about mid-lane read.  In spite of their aggressiveness, they get through the heads, read the mids, and finish strong.  I think the Particle Pearl is the best of the lot.  Interestingly, it was the first to be discontinued.  I got my 15 pounder at the last moment, thanks to pba1g11 here on this site.  Jeffrevs saw the posting in the sale forum and alerted me.  Thanks to both of those guys!

I had the pearl particle also. that ball was weaker than the diesel particle. I would have to say that this power diesel is stronger than the particle diesel in overall lane read.

and I had my Particle drilled stronger.
so I think there assessment of this being there strongest (or most aggressive?) coverstock is dead on. I would hate to see that core in a high load particle. you would need 80 units for 50'

same core, different coverstock. the turbo is a reactive resin and the Power is a pearl particle.

The power diesel also has a different core than the turbo diesel. They added a ring to the top of the weight block to allow the ball to skid more and I can tell you thats exactly what it does. The power diesel is a great ball..
