How do these compare ? I have an original that I like and have been shooting good with it but it is 16# and a 15 would be nice. for the record I'm seeing about 4" of flair with the original. other options would be one of the pitch balls, blue or black. first ball out of the bag is my thunderflash that I see an easy 6 inches of flair. Really loving the urethane.....

IMO, the Pitch Black is weaker than the Black Hammer Urethane (new version), but still stronger than the old one. I think you'll see more overall hook from newer urethane balls. Might even want to drill a newer urethane slightly weaker. With that being said, the new one shapes a lot like the original.

4" flair from an original black hammer. Wow no wonder you like urethane. Hard for you to keep reactives on the lane huh?

Only thing that works on this leauge. I do use reactive on my other league with more oil. But yeah up to 4†track flair but dint have a ruler,I was knda suprised. Shot a 23x with it last night . Hits hard

Yeah modern urethane often hooks more than the old Faball stuff but it doesn't hit harder with that 2 piece grenade imo.

The BW urethane has massive track flare for me.
Reads early and has controllable backend.
It also left 5-6' long oil streaks off the end of the test pattern I was on.
Made it FUBAR for anyone else.
Had 30+ strikes out of 40 shots
Tried it again last week on a 37' - 26.5ul pattern and I could get it to the pocket, but not get it to hit very well. Not enough rev rate anymore
This will be a niche piece for me at best, on sport patterns where I really need to control the friction, like NATS team pattern last year, wish I would have had this one back then
