How is this Black Hammer drilled?
« on: February 20, 2007, 08:55:38 AM »
Could someone please tell me what conditions this ball is drilled for? I want to use it for mainly ten pins and light lane conditions. If it is drilled for that condition I would just have to get the thumb plugged and redrilled and just put new grips in the fingers. Here are three links to three different photos of the ball.

The cg has been kicked out to the right a bit which should help it turn over. And if your pap is somewhat close to your grip center this should make it roll early. Try it and if you dont like it start hitting the cover with diff grits of abralon. I have a blue one at 4000 and it sweet on dry lanes. A buddy has a pink one thats polished up and its even better. I beleive the pink one is the hardest cover Hammer made.

I'll probably just get the ball plugged and redrilled to the way my 14lb one was.

I would leave the layout as is and make surface adjustments. That ball will take well to cover changes and you should be able to get it to do what you want with polish or sanding.

I just found out that the ball is already polished.

It's an old black hammer, so basically it's going to be good for drier lanes unless you take it down to like 300.
