Cherry Vibe: pin under fingers
« on: April 25, 2008, 05:40:19 PM »
I have a Blue Vibe with pin in bridge above fingers and it's very good for medium oil. Lately( over 150 games) it's not carrying the 10th pin or light hits very well; even after a hot water bath.

I am thinking about replacing it with a Cherry but with pin below fingers. I have never tried this drilling but shouldn't it help a low rev player like myself( est. 220 rpm and 15 mph)? "Pin up" drilling usually works good for me since I use only 14 lb. balls. My house has new synthetic lanes.

Thanks!

Have a look at this and then decide how you wanna drill the Cherry Vibe..

Make sure you take that ball back to 4000 grit with Powerhouse factory finish after the hot water bath. The coverstock of a reactive resin ball will end up at about 600 grit after a period of use, so just getting the oil out then putting polish on won't give you that same pop on the backend. The Cherry is a great ball too, will give you more lenght with more snap on the backend than the Blue. Pin down drilling will work(get the ball rolling alittle earlier). Just put you favorite drilling on it and have at it!

Thanks a lot! I'll try to re-surface my Blue Vibe first.
