Ebonite Energizer Cleaner.  This will not break down the chemical composition of your bowling ball like rubbing alcohol

I have heard that over time it can make the cover brittle.. but I'm not exactly sure how that time compares to the expected life of a ball (or the time between resurfacings).  If you are really worried about it, you could use one of the approved cleaners (just to be sure), but my GUESS is that it has no real negative effect on the ball.

Just grab yourself a bottle of Energizer cleaner.  It works good to remove oil and dirt.

I have heard that Rubbing alcohol ruins the balls cover.

I have the ebonite cleaner and polish but it doesn't move the scuffs I don't put the alcohol on the whole ball just where there are scuffs and its not a regular thing jus certain houses but I am going to get it resurfaced in a little while so hopefully to much damage wasn't done.
