Black widow pink surface changes
« on: June 14, 2019, 02:02:54 PM »
Has anyone knocked the factory polish off of it yet? How did you like it? How low did you go? I knocked it off my mine and my dad’s. Went a little lower on mine than his. He hates his ball both polished and after I hit it with a 4000 pad. Mine got a bit better, but still seems allergic to any carry down

The more surface you put on it, the earlier it will read the midlane.
I wouldn't hesitate to put 1000 dull on it if I thought it would help, however I would change balls if I got to that point.
The surface is very tuneable, you can always put it back to factory if you don't like how it reads for you both
Its pretty low volume around here in the summer, so I took the polish off, and went from the factory OBB of 1000/polish to 3000/polish.
It gets down the lane a little better and still gets around the corner just fine for me

4000 grit for me makes the Pink Widow a monster. Slightly earlier but way more consistent.

I throw mine at 2000. It’s a monster.  I’ll scuff all the ebonite family balls that come out of the box with shine on them from the factory. They are always so clean and sometimes they can get squirty in oil.  Don’t be afraid!

I’m glad so many other people have done the same thing! I never like the factory polish on anything, but I also only really throw EBI. I see the same thing with it being squirty

I have been trying 500 or 1000 and then polish on quite a bit of EBI products.
Works well for me to still get through the heads, but still have teeth for the midlane
Also gets rid of that "squirty" look for me.
Not every ball, but the majority of the time this works well.
Seems like I'm fine tuning the surface of alot of pieces so they fit the shape I'm after

^^ Any ball with polish gets surface IMMEDIATELY!!!
