Blue Vibe ...
« on: July 29, 2008, 04:43:44 AM »
Finally drilled and tried one last night on medium-light oil, for which this ball was "SUPPOSEDLY" designed, especially with its 4000 grit ABralon and highly polished surface.

Phooey! whoever gave me that line of bunkum should be shot!
No way can this ball be for less than medium oil UNLESS you have Robert Smith's or Sean Rash's ball speed.

Back to the drawing board ....

Oh so not true. What drilling do you have on it? Then again, I do have a 20+ ball speed off the hand and a 435 avg rev rate.

I love my Blue Vibe on medium-light conditions, it is a monster on the backend. Blue Vibe is not a pearl ball though, Purple and Blue Vibes had solid coverstocks, not like the Cherry and Emerald Vibes those two have pearl coverstocks.

SV,

Purple was pearl. Same cover as the the Doom (Max Flip reactive). The Emerald has the same cover.

here's problem about what you are saying about them being pearl. Look at Hammer's website, Doom has Max-Flip Reactive, where does that say Pearl.
Emerald and Cherry Vibes on Hammer's website say Max-Flip Reactive Pearl.
Purple Vibe says Max-Flip Reactive, no pearl

Max Flip is a pearl formula. Contact Jeff Ussery to see.

Anything else I say will be baiting and I'm not into that.

The emerald has the toxic version of the max flip cover, with traction pearl. The cover of the blue was a widely discussed topic for a while. Supposedly someone has an email from Hammer stating the blue was a polished solid.

My blue was drill leverage and it was a medium- medium heavy ball. Eventually I plugged and redrilled it putting the pin in my middle finger (just over 5 inch pin to pap) and now it's great on lighter/shorter patterns. I liked it so much I put the same layout on my EV.

I am using a 5 3/8 pin under bridge and cg right above my thumb layout, ball is medium light and smooth as babies rump. Perfect for controlling flying backends and some carry down, rolls alot like a 3D Violet Pearl offset I still use. The 3D is drilled stronger but the less reactive cover has a similar ball motion.

That I know and accept.
Svstar34 and K-Dawg, let's not get too far off subject.
AS far as I know, from reading almost everything about the Vibes here and comments made here by Jeff Ussery and others:
Purple and Emerald were specs to be the same pearlized coverstock EXCEPT there was some kind of added "traction" compound added to the Emerald to make it hook more and into true medium oil territory. The Blue is solid all 3 otheres were pearlized. And you know I am not "INTO" Hammer balls, but I have followed the Vibes with lots of interest.
