Coming soon- the Black Widow Urethane
« on: November 16, 2017, 05:26:32 PM »
I saw this earlier today.  Hammer is going to take the Gas Mask core and combine that with urethane to make a pretty sick ball.  Take a look at the link below.

Thinking about it surprised they didn't do this sooner.   Seems like the ball makers were scared to put an asym core in a urethane until recently (Hot Cell, etc) as even the Seismic Desperado had silicon in the cover stock to tame down its reaction.
Kind of noob when made this account so take advice with grain of salt.

After looking into stronger urethane, i think they're something that could benefit lower tilt and lower axis rotation bowlers like myself. I got forced inside too much with the Pitch Black because it wanted to read even earlier with my tilt where i think the extra core could help in those situations.

It'll be interesting to see if the Motiv Combat Tank is asymmetric as well, it's now on the approved list also

Its fairly reasonably priced it looks like $140 or so but its also not 2 piece like their other true urethane balls.  Not that matters a whole lot I guess.

Saw one in person last Saturday evening, but it wasn’t “officially” there.

Matter of fact, the shop guy wouldn’t even officially acknowledge that it was there.

But it was.

Staffer works there. Pretty sure it belonged to them.

Had only heard rumors up to that point, but then I knew they had been true.

140.00 for a urethane? LMAO. I will pass. I will stick with the 80.00 Blue Hammer Urethane.

Blue Hammer is not a true urethane no matter what Hammer tries to claim (even they admit they didn't flush out the resin from their production lines like they did for the Black and the Purple which unlike the Blue are 2 piece as well).  No urethane goes that long.  Its a super weak reactive which is also why its so cheap (don't get me wrong love mine but still).  This ball will hit a ton harder and have a much different shape down the lane.  Blue is better for the burn and this ball is better for short to medium oil with plenty of oil in the heads.

I threw the Widow Urethane at an EBI demo day today. It's definitely much stronger the Black Hammer, which I own. The Gas Mask core produces some serious flare. It's a urethane that bowlers with medium revs can use on a regular basis.

Keep in mind that when they came out, every Fab Hammer was $139.99, from Burgundy all the way down the line to Pink.
