Equation or Toxic?
« on: February 19, 2007, 08:38:52 AM »
I have a BW for heavy lanes, a Vibe for light lanes and I'm thinking either a Toxic, or Equation for Medium lanes... anyone have any thoughts?
this is a repost from a thread i started in the Track section of this site.. splendorlex said i should post it here to get a little more even bias about the two balls.  any info is good info.  thanks

Well the Toxic has a lot of backend. I'm not sure about a Equation becasue I am not to familiar with that ball. But if your looking for medium lane conditions, I would go with a Pain.

I would choose the DOOM  or PAIN over the Toxic.  I feel the DOOM and PAIN are much better bowling balls.

Now if you like solid reactive covers then choose the PAIN.  If you like pearl reactive covers for med oil then choose the DOOM.

Phoenix, I really think you should read some of the reviews on the Doom, and you will see why it is one of the most popular balls in the last year or so.  I've heard VERY few people say that ball didn't work for them.  I have heard good things about the Equation too, to be sure, but not nearly as many people as have said great things about the Doom.

Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

going to look at a few reviews right now... i guess i never really thought about the doom or pain, i always thought those balls were nearly as much ball as the black widow (which by the way already needs an oil extraction)

Not at all.  I would call the Black Widow a Medium to Medium Heavy piece, and the Pain about the same with a different reaction shape.  The Doom is more of a Medium to Medium light piece, and would fit nicely between the BW and your Vibe.

ohh and get this.. i went for a little open bowling last night after a mens league and tried to throw the vibe... the lanes were so burnt up that i was having a hard time controlling the Vibe!  but i did end up with a 216, 220, 205... so i guess it turned out ok.
