Title: Creating a Hammer arsenal
Post by: Hammerhead22 on February 07, 2016, 10:49:50 PM
Hello everybody, new user here. Used to be a huge bowler back in HS (had a sanctioned 300 game when I was 17), broke my arm at a soccer tournament and was out of the game for a few years.

Recently decided to come back to the sport. However, I went bowling 2 weeks ago with some friends and my stupid self left my truck bed open after words and drove off... My balls, roller, shoes, all gone  >:( >:(

Since I have to buy new balls I've decided that I'm committing to Hammer balls (my favorite soccer team is West Ham United "The Hammers") so i figured Ive got to throw hammers haha.

Recently bought a Blue Hammer, the guy drilled in Pin Up. (I'll try to post a pic here)
This is going to be my dry lane ball. Looking to have a medium oil ball, as well as heavy oil ball. I prefer solid and/or hybrid balls..JUst prefer that reaction

Not sure of my speed and rev rate as I've been out of the game for a while, but id say medium revs, medium/slowish speed

Thanks for any help my fellow Hammerheads

Edit: Pic added

Medium oil would be the Viral Solid hands down. Can't beat the value and performance with the Vibe core.

There's a wide variety for something stronger with the widows, bad intentions, and new scandal

Thanks for the reply man. Viral solid looks nice.

Have you thrown the Low Flare Solid?

I haven't but I'm a big fan of lower flaring cores for house shots and shorter sport shots.

Put an ad in the lost and found section of the newspaper.  Also alert the local centers to be watching for your stuff.  It's a long shot, but maybe an honest person found your equipment and is looking for the owner.  --  JohnP

Same here man, especially with that being so forgiving up 10, I love balls that aren't gonna flare as much

I'm thinking medium oil ball is between ALF Solid and Viral Solid

as for heavy, no idea yet. The dark legend is intriguing but not a lot have had the chance to throw it yet

Thanks for the idea. I haven't put an ad in, but I did call the two police departments of the cities I was driving through.. Nothing yet and it's been about two weeks. I'm surprised it hasn't turned up because a huge bag in the middle of the street can't be missed. My only guess is some bowler found it and thought jackpot

It was time to get new balls anyways. The thing I'm mainly pissed about is I lost my AMF Code, which is the ball I threw my 300 with, was hoping to keep that forever

Sorry to hear about your loss... In regards to an Hammer arsenal, here are the balls I will recommend for you...

Heavy Oil Pattern:  Scandal (best ball motion we have in the Hammer line)
Medium - Medium Heavy Pattern:  Arson High Flare Solid  (Best benchmark ball)
Medium - Medium Dry Pattern:  Viral Solid or Viral  (classic Vibe core, enough said)
Drier Lanes: You have that covered with your Blue Hammer

Let me know if you have any questions regarding the Hammer brand or any other balls in the EBI brands... Good Luck Bowling!

The Viral is very versatile and predictable because it has the Vibe core

Looking at that Blue Hammer pic in the OP..

Is it me, or does it look like it is completely cracked through the bridge? Judging from how the glare from the light stops when it gets to the crack..

Or is it just my eyes fooling me?

BL.

I panicked and thought the same thing but the driller assured me thats part of the drilling process. Its not cracked, its small incisions (i believe he uses a drill machine that is all electronic) it doesnt effect performance though. And i trust the man, he's a very accomplished bowler

I see it now. You have to look really close to it to see that the light at that angle goes through the lines instead of stopping at the line then continuing.
