three - four ball package
« on: June 16, 2016, 07:04:29 AM »
Serious thought about investing in new Hammer equipment for the upcoming season.

I think the Scandal is a must - so heavy oil will be covered.

Medium conditions - what should I look into? Would like one smooth reaction and one skid/flip reaction.

Dry - again - need input please.

Wait until after the expo that's just in 2 weeks.
The new season won't start before after july right? Here it start in the second half of August.
Most used:
Motiv Venom Shock (14)
DV8 Grudge Hybrid (14)
Hammer Scandal (14)
DV8 Freakshow (14)

Sometimes.
C300 Swerve (14)
Motiv Jackal LE (14)

Retired:
Roto Grip Sinister (13)
Motiv Jackal (14)

Given to a no-thumber in the club:
Brunswick T-zone (13)

Might stick with Motiv from now on.

I agree, the Scandal would definitely be a great choice for your heavier oil option. Next I would go with the Arson high flare solid for your smoother medium to medium heavy oil ball and the Arson high flare (pearl) as your medium skid/flip ball. Depending on your style and the type of lane conditions that you bowl on, if another step down is needed the Viral Hybrid would be a good ball. For me it gets great length, but isn't extremely angular once it reaches the end of the pattern.

You could possibly get the new Rebel instead of the Arson high flare (pearl), but I don't want to suggest it since I haven't seen or used one.

This is what I use on league night the pattern is Main street 41 ft. oil pattern

Hammer Scandal
Hammer Spike
Hammer Black Widow Pearl
Hammer Widow Spare

this combination works great the Spike is a very under rated ball the cover stock is really great the core is weaker but that ball have really good back end you should check it out and its pretty inexpensive I think $89 from bowling.com

Heavy oil the Scandal would be an obvious choice.

For medium the Rebel is a great choice along with the Red Legend Solid. The Red Legend Solid is very smooth for me and a go to ball out of the bag every time I bowl.

For lighter oil I would try and get one of the Spike(I have not tried personally) I use the Columbia Nitrous which is in the same price/performance point of the Spike

For my league I use:
Hammer Scandal
Hammer Red Legend Pearl
Hammer Viral Solid
Hammer Blue Urethane.

I hear alot of bowlers say that the Hammer Viral Hybrid is a great ball
