opinions for a forward roll drill
« on: February 25, 2010, 04:51:24 PM »
I have a guy who wanting a new hammer jacked drilled with a forward roll drilling pattern. This guy is throwing a old rhino pro gold that is drilled up label leverage now, track is 4 1/4 up 3/8: speed is 16-17mph and just plays the track with around 220-240revs. I just was wanting to know what is most proshop guys are using on this ball for a forward roll drill. I have two that I have used in the past but not on this certain ball. So if you got a layout that you have used in the past that has worked will you pass it along.
Thanks

This may give some ideas, but you would get better responses from knowledgeable drillers by posting in the Drilling & Layouts forum.

Small drilling angle, ie short mb to PAP placement.  Long pin placement, say 4.5 to 5".  My faves are, 4.5 below ring with the mb about 1.5 to 2" from the PAP.

And?  The dual angle technique still works on sym balls.

yeah but wouldnt you only have pin to pap distance and val angle to work with?
MB surely wouldnt be strong enough to affect forward roll.

I only mentioned it because your suggestion was for MB placements.

if theres a way to create forward roll in a symmetrical ball, I would like to know as I like to learn the technical side to bowling.
