Difference Between Vibes
« on: August 19, 2007, 09:43:22 AM »
Is there really a reaction difference between the Vibes if they were to be drilled the same?  Or are they just different colors?

are you trying to decide between  (blue ball )  or a cherry?I think it depends on what you feel more comfortable with.(It could've been pink)      Mike

I believe from two that I have seen...purple and blue there is a big difference.

Blue has some particle as do all cutthroat coverstocks and is much more even....

I have not seen the Cherry to compare.

The Cherry is longer than the Blue VIbe and stronger on the backend.

Yes the cherry is considrably longer than the blue.  Personally I like the blue because it is a little earlier and more predictable read of the lane.  Depending on what y0u are looking for.  Cherry is going te get you more length and a little stronger reaction off the dry.

Cororection on the Blue's cover: it's CT-Reactive, just like the High Rev. There's no particle load. Cut throat like like The Deal and The Big Deal had particles.

From what I've been told, the Cherry Vibe is also less squirty than the Purple Vibe (discontinued) is.

I don't know what to surmise based on different opinion above...but I know from the eye it has a very even roll compared to the violet.

Actually, here's the page from hammer's website:  http://hammerbowling.com/products/balls/detail.php?PRKey=45.

It is the CT coverstock with a milder Vibe core. Hammer has nothing particle  at the moment.

See the note at the bottom of the page that reads...
**Hammer's Cut-Throat coverstock features an aggressive base reactive with particle and pearl additives.

right, but the Blue Vibe is a Cut Throat-Reactive, meaning its not the CT coverstock on the Big Deal and so on. The reactive is saying that the particles have not been added on this coverstock.

Why would Hammer post that info on the website, if it didn't apply to the Blue Vibe, which is the only ball listed with the CT coverstock?

I'm thinking that maybe an oversight from when they had the Hawg last year, but the Blue Vibe is definitely a Reactive ball.  I was going to get it or the Doom last year.  I got the Doom because I wanted a stronger core, but a similar cover.
