Title: Doom reaction loss
Post by: KDawg77 on February 11, 2008, 02:49:35 AM
This is a bizarre case because I know this ball doesn't have 50 games on it and it seems to have lost reaction. I've done a hot water bath and a hook again treatment, but still nothing. I'm guessing it needs a resurface, but my Cherry Vibe outhooks it. Just weird...

We drilled a Black Widow Pearl for a friend and his died after about 30 games.
If you have access to the Rejuvenator or Revivor it can't hurt to try that...
That's the only thing we haven't done yet. I tried a light resurfacing and fresh polish and it was still dead. Good luck.

I had a doom that wouldn't stop moving....hard.

I had to send it to another state...maybe it had more room on the lanes to react super big....there!

I have a blue vibe and on the correct condition it will back end harder than most equipment i've ever had!  The Cherry and Blue vibes have huge back end movement on the correct condition.

Take the DOOMS cover all the way down to 360 grit or even 180 and give it a hot water bath a couple times at the low surface grit!  Then bring the cover back to 2000 or 4000 and use Ebonites factory finish polish.  This should bring the ball back to NIB performance!

Will do, chitown. Thanks! I know you know the Doom all too well.

As chitown stated, i'd try a hot water bath and resurface. I find that odd though as mine has well over 200 games and is still strong as new with just light sanding and polishes. I do clean my stuff very regularly and have noted the doom as my most durable ball.

What are the layouts on the DOOM and Vibe?

Surfaces?
