300 tonight with the........
« on: November 20, 2006, 03:36:00 PM »
BIG RIG DIESEL (what! Not a NM, BW, HZ, Pain or Doom?).

As a team tonight we shot 1059 (234, 235, 290, 300) in the third game of a four game scratch league.

I hyped up this ball in a previous post last week. I bought mine used from a PBA seller on Ebay for $26 plus shipping in mInt condition, took it down to 2000 Abralon and could not believe the reaction I got! It has the midlane of the No Mercy the heavy roll of the Pain and the backend snap and continuation of the Black Widow. It cuts through carrydown like a bulldozer!

I love my BW's. I love my Pains, Dooms, Hawg Zilla and if I had one I'm sure I'd love a No Mercy, but I gotta tell ya none of these balls have anything on the Big Rig Diesel! With it's high differential and what looks like a mica laiden converstock it's smooth and powerful with a jump at the end that will give you goosebumps.

I'm having the best season yet and owe it all to seeing the light and becoming a HAMMER HEAD!

Way to go bud! Hammer is kicking some butt!  It's got to be even better to throw a 300 with a 26 dollar ball!

LOL.... my high series of 804 (also with a 300) was thrown with a Storm Super Charge that I also bought used off Ebay for $30. Guess I'm just a cheapskate.

I was going to start tonight off with the PAIN because its been working well on the longer oil but last night I took it down to 2000 Abralon and it was just too strong (and I left the other one at home). So, I opted for the BRD instead.

My teammate that shot the 290 has been struggling all year with severe over under (he averaged 222 last year and is sitting at 202 this season after 40 games----remember it's a 4 game league). He had his pro shop take his DOOM down to what looks like about 2000 or maybe even 1000 and tonight for the first time this year he got a consistent reaction. I think that's one of the great attributes of these Hammer coverstocks, they take changes very, very well.

Typical PBA condition layout with the pin above the middle finger, cg just past midline. I'd hate to think what this ball would do in a leverage layout. I'll try and get a pic up later today.

Congrats Wallshot! I can vouch for the Big Rig. This one is my first ball out and has been a life saver this season. Got mine used as well off a trusted BR member, Revlefty. Mine is drilled pin just under ring, cg kicked slightly to rt. no wt. hole. Can use it on just about any conditions except dry. Cover kept in box condition and clean it after each set. Smooth predictable roll and hits harder than anything I own. Can't believe how much different this one is compared to the Big Block Diesel I had! You can still find these gems on E-Bay for a good price. If you are looking for a very versatile piece, don't overlook this winner! Had the front 9 with my Big Rig on 11/21/06. Gave it a little too much room on the 10th shot and came up short once again! One of these days...
