Raw Hammer Doom
« on: June 05, 2008, 11:10:37 AM »
I am wondering if any of you can tell me what the OOB surface is on this ball.  I have looked on Hammer's web site, but can not seem to find that info.

Thanks,
Lon

Yeah its been brought up before and from owning the doom, I have done that many times. It used to be on the site but they took it off the list when it got discontinued.

Hint....open the Tech Spec page, print it off and keep it. OR go to BowlingballReviews.com, under discontinued Balls....it's all there.

azguy, now it is entirely possible that I am blind, but I sure do not see it on the Tech Spec page or in the Product Line Technical Information link that is on that page.  And on BowlingballReviews.com, I only see that it indicates a polished finish, but no indication of the sanded grit.  Like I said before though, I very likely am missing something.

On the Tech Specs page, the first 3 items are 3 senetences/paragraphs that look like this, in white, on my page:

RG's and Differential
To understand SF and ER ratings in the context of RG's
and Differentials, think of a car. If RG's and Differentials
are the car's engine, then the veneer is the car's tires.

As a general rule, the lower the RG number (2.45), the quicker
the product will pick up its roll. The higher the RG number (2.54),
the longer the product will go before picking up its roll.

For differentials, the higher the differential number (.058),
the greater the overall hook potential. The lower the differential
number (.040), the lower the hook potential.

Directly under them is this line
  • Product Line Technical Information

  •

CLick on that line.

charlest, when selecting "Product Line Technical Information", I do see what you are referring to, but the Doom is not listed there.  What am I missing?

The Doom is a retired ball that's why it's not on the current list.

The stock finish IS 4000 grit + Factory Finish polish.

Sorry, seems I just confused this issue.  magicmike answered the only question I was asking right off the bat.
I only responded to azguy and charlest because I was not originally able to find the answer at those locations before I came here and asked the question.
Sorry, I even confuse myself most of the time.
