Pin over middle Psycho?
« on: November 04, 2008, 12:01:43 PM »
Anybody out there tried a pin over middle with cg in the palm drilling on one of these?

Such a drilling would give me an approximate drilling of 6x5.

I just want to try out one of the new Hammer balls SOOOOO bad. I got talked out of the Venom (sold it to a customer) but I have 3 Psychos sitting here and am dying to try one but want a drilling that won't overlap my other stuff.

Thoughts?

Doug... I would give it a whirl. I drilled 3 Psychos and love all 3 of them.

I too drilled up one of these with pin up above my bridge & CG in my palm (6x5) similar to what you are looking for. This ball is so smooth through the front and a strong movement in the mids, with a strong arcing motion in the backends. I use this Psycho the most out of the 3 that I have drilled up. Can use it on various house patterns, sport shots, and PBA league shots.

You will not be disappointed with this layout on this great piece of equipment.

Doug,
just got 1 drilled up exactly like that and it is the best ball i have thrown in years. it is smooth and very strong in the backend but not skid/flip at all. you can put pretty good hand in the ball and it does not over react.
am going to get a 2nd one drill it the same and polish it up a ton to have if the lanes beak down.

give it a shot (if you don't like it you can send it to me )

Hi Doug:
I have my Psycho drilled pin over the bridge, and CG stacked right below just about in the middle of the grip, and I love it.  It handles anything from medium heavy to medium dry, and makes a fairly strong move to the pocket, but certainly not a flip, more of a hard arc.  I am planning on getting another one and keep it undrilled until I see a reaction loss (which I've seen none of yet), or decide to drill it a bit differently.  Definitely a great ball.

Psycho is a very underated ball. It handles a good amount of oil.

From what i see it has a strong midlane with a snappy backend.

I layed mine out 5 x 4.
