Big Rig Diesel on the PBA Show today.....
« on: November 28, 2005, 12:52:30 AM »
I think it was great seeing Joe Ciccone throwing the
Big Rig on tv today. We all got to see the type of
reation it produces. It was very true and angular.
I thought he was going to throw Brunswick as usual
like he did his two previous showings. But when i saw the
black ball with the red engraving i knew it was Hammer time.

That's the first showing of the year for Hammer. Hopefully
Doug Kent and Tony Reyes will make a show to advertise for
Hammer.

Yep, definitely a High Rev, probably wasn't enough on the backend for him, chose to go with the Big Rig...perhaps should have switched at the end of the championship game?  Oh well, that's discussion for another time...

Yeah, Big Rig Diesel hehe. Doesn't that ball look familiar to you Jon? JK.

Thanks to Rick B. at Brunswick Insiders, here's the layout on Joe's Big Rig

Yeah, I think Ciccone should have switched to the High Rev for those last remaining frames too.  Definitely felt bad for him that he was so close to getting his first PBA title.

Yeah, I was pulling for him too. I really wanted him to win his first one. Nice to see some of the underdogs come up, represent and win some.

BTW - I wonder if anyone knows if Joe was using Hammer all week?
Maybe someone from Hammer can chime in?
Brian Graham? hehe...

Thanks!

I was hoping Joe would pull it out. All he needed
was to mark in the last two rames and he would of had his first title.
In the Brunswick Insider write up, Ric said he talked to Joe
at dinner and Joe said the lanes were changing quick.
He felt he threw it well but the reaction he got didn't
come out the way he wanted.

I am too curious like RAMTART what Joe was throwing all week?

Brain Graham told me before that the Big Rig is a good ball to go to
when the High Rev isn't hooking enough.

Was advised by a friend who attended the tournament throughout the week and Joe was using mostly Hammer balls

I was there and the second block of qualifying Joe Ciccone used a Classic Zone. I did not really watch him during the first block.

I wouldn't say he should have switched.  If you watch those last 4 frames, he released the ball nothing like he did the first 6 frames.  Plus he tugged the ball 4 boards on that greek church shot and got soft and lazy at the bottom when he kept leaving double wood.  That was operator error, not the ball.

I hope Kent and Reyes can step it up this week.

I want to see more Hammers on TV.

The big rig diesel is the most underrated ball on the market. Out of allthe releases prior to the big rig, the big rig is the best.

What is the main difference between the Big Rig and the Big Block? I have a Big Block but haven't had much sucess with it. Just a basic label leverage drill on it, however it isn't a very forgiving ball at all. You pretty much have to be perfect with it to score big. I've tried mine sanded and polished and it really didn't make a difference. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Spike

Cover is the difference. Big Rig has a better cover.

Really don't understand why more people aren't using the
Big Rig Diesel.  I've never avg higher than 175, and
after going to the Big Rig avg has increased to 196 w/
my top 2 series highs within 2 months time.
I've pretty much stuck w/ Hammer for the last couple yrs
using the Real Deal, Hawg Wild, Big Rig, and Diesel Reactive
Pearl.  The Big Rig carries better than any of those.  Tons
of thanks to BuddiesProShop for matching this one w/ my style
and recommending this purchase.

Too bad Ciccone didn't pull out a win for all of us Big Rig
users.  Maybe next time.....
