I (Senior Age 71) use 3 balls for my once-a-week Men's Bowling League on our new synthetic lanes:

For "Big Hook" Lanes on first ball: Purple Hammer "TABOO";
For "Less Hooking" Lanes on first ball: Green Hammer "Raw Toxic";
and
For 10-pins or any leave on right side (for a leave on the left side, I use the first ball): Plastic Ebonite "MAXIM".

Q: Do I have the right Game Plan (these new synthetic lanes seem to be lowering Everyone's scores this year, compared to our old Wooden Ones!)?

Wooden lanes will play a lot different than synthetic, especially if they're brand new lanes. Wood lanes will usually play where you will have a smooth look because of the softness of the wood. With synthetics, you will have more of a skid in the oil, hook off of the dry motion. So, if your equipment is shiny (Which, if I remember correctly, the Toxic comes shiny), it will make you see the lane differently. I grew up on wood and making the switch to synthetics was hard, because I was used to seeing a certain ball motion.

It sounds like what you have is good. My only advice would be to have your pro shop operator sand your Taboo lightly, to take away some of the issues you might see with how synthetics play.

As always, if you need any help, please feel free to ask, and God bless you for bowling at 71. I hope to be able to bowl that long.
