Title: Hammer Gauntlet
Post by: Helluvahobbybowler on February 21, 2017, 11:17:18 AM
Any thoughts?  It's been out for a few days but I haven't read any reviews on here.

It looks good. From the videos I've seen, it looks most similar to the Paradox maybe a little more overall motion

I threw one last night for a game and the thing is an absolute beast.  Has a lot more length than I thought it would have but, pretty much recovers from just about anywhere.  It is stronger than the Scandal by about 3 boards.  Other guy on the pair was throwing it also but only for game 1 as he is an up the 10 kind of guy and could not keep it from crossing over no matter how hard he threw it.  I was playing 20 out to 10 on our THS from the beginning of the night.  My normal shot with a pin down Mako is about 17 to 10.

Yes, that's what I noticed.  I loved the motion of the Scandal as I don't really like the overly aggressive or angular look.  My only issue was that the Scandal died on me after 50-60 games.  Hopefully the hybrid cover of the Gauntlet will last a little longer

I have Scandal with 200+ games on it
still going strong
I don't de-oil it until 30-40 games
but ball maintenance is important, wipe oil off with good shammy after every shot
use good cleaner at end of night
