Hammer Jigsaw Review!!
« on: June 22, 2009, 08:26:41 AM »
Well, gang... Let's just say that this new Hammer beauty will amaze a lot of bowlers with the STRONGEST & BIGGEST backend movement that Hammer has ever produced!!

I want to thank Jeff Ussery on giving me the opportunity to throw this ball yesterday during a demo for one of our International distributors. During this demo, I also threw my Venom & Hot Sauce which are my biggest backend moving balls to see the difference in the motion of the Jigsaw... The lane pattern was a typical 38-39 foot pattern with good amount of volume in the middle part of the lane.

For me, the Jigsaw was 6-8 boards stronger overall than the Hot Sauce & Venom and stronger in the backends than both balls too. The Jigsaw was so clean through the front part of the lane and then had a very strong, yet controllable/continuous movement in the mids with a big backend finish. I kept creeping in further left to see when this ball will stop rolling in the midlane and it kept coming back each time. This ball was simply amazing and I am very, very impressed with the strong movement this ball has in the midlane & strong backend finish. When we broke down the pattern and forced me to move left on the lane, the Jigsaw still got through the front part of the lane with ease and still had the big backend movement in the backends.

THERE IS NO BALL IN THE HAMMER LINE THAT MOVES LIKE THIS BALL DOES!!

I have provided some pics of the ball for you to view. I love the color scheme of this ball after it took me about a game to notice the roll pattern from the swirls on the ball.

It is a very fun ball to throw and when throwing this ball, a few of the local bowlers came down to our lanes to see what ball I was throwing. After watching a few shots, they wanted to know when they could get their hands on this ball.

Save this date: July 14th is when this ball will be available to everyone!!

I will have another review coming soon after I practice on a few more patterns (PBA & Kegel patterns) to get a better feel of how this new beauty rolls on tougher patterns.

Stay Tuned!!

I threw the Jigsaw last night at the Demo Day Bowl Expo and was very impressed.

Threw it on the fresh which gave me the midlane I need plus didn't over hook on the backends. The carry was amazing and did recovery when needed.

Also threw it on a pair which was bowled on for a couple hours.  I moved into about 23-24 at the arrows and circled the lane with ease.  The crazy thing about this ball is it gives you great midlane but stores its energy when need. The Jigsaw stored its energy very well and will be used on a variety of patterns. This ball is going to compliment the Hot Sauce, Burn and Black Vibe.

Great ball!!

Can anyone give us a comparison of the Jigsaw and Sting specifically comparing length, ball motion, overall hook, and backend

I was there late.  No bowling for me, I was sick as a dog.  I did like what I saw from guys that were throwing the ball.  I am not a big fan of the color scheme.  It will be loved or hated that is for sure.

Top Shelf... The Chalk core is the BW (gas mask) weight block that was tweaked a little bit. The Jigsaw is a new cover & new core (never been used before). The only thing that the Jigsaw & Chalk have in common is that the cover is similar, but the Jigsaw cover is much stronger than the Chalk's cover was.

McFarland... The Sting is a combo of the original & Bite. Clean as the original in the front part of the lane and strong in the midlanes as the Bite. From what I have seen with the Sting, it is strong at the mids with a strong rolling backend finish (not a snap at the original had).

Pooldaddy... The video will be coming soon as we did a small video during our demos. I do not have a camcorder at this time, and plan to get one soon. I will see if I can borrow one from one of my friends and shoot a video. Believe me that this ball is definately different from any Hammer ball in recent & the past. Most will be pleased with this ball on the way it rolls. I actually love the color scheme of this ball.

This ball is for real, and I am really looking forward to drilling up another one in the upcoming weeks. I am hoping to use it this week during the megabuck tourneys.

So the white in the Jigsaw is a particle additive like in the Chalk.
