Hammer Pain Thought
« on: November 09, 2008, 04:34:37 AM »
I have a pain I'm not using and I had a thought about a new layout on it.I'm considering a 1-1/2" pin to pap and cg in the mid and then polishing the crap out of it.
I've been having problems matching up on a med.flat long pattern with clean backends that break down real fast.I start off with a TF pearl drilled 5" pin to pap above fingers and when the pattern dries up I have nothing that works well to switch.
every thing I currently use is either real skid/snap or rolls out and the move in deep gives to much angle to carry well so the best option is up the track where the low rev guys are loving it.
I'm going to try some urethane but I don't feel the lanes are not dry enough.
I ve never tried this layout before but I want a high polished resin that will not jump on the backends.
any thoughts?

well I went to the Ebonite web site and found the cover adjustment guide and added up the #'s.went with 500 abralon followed up by 4000 abralon,I think that will tame down the ball a little off the dry and help in the oil.
I went with the 1 1/2" pin to pap thinking that I wasn't sure if my pap measurement was 100% correct as I have not checked it in years.I have to say it has not changed so I might try it again with a pin on pap.
on the bright side I have discovered a lay out ball combo I really like.a layout I can use on a ball that I can use most of the time on league conditions and adjust with as opposed to changing balls.I'm real excited about it,I'll post later on tonight with tonight's results.

another update:
the cover change made the ball real strong, worked well playing inside but when the shot broke down I had to put her away.shot 222 and 179 and switched to my high polished LevRg and shot 253 with 2 splits.I've come to the conclusion that this ball will work well on a flat med heavy so that's where I'll use it.
