Hammer Statement... Feedback?
« on: May 01, 2019, 12:42:07 AM »
I keep telling myself I would like to try 1-2 EBI products instead of always buying Storm and I have to admit the Hammer Statement has my attention... Feedback please?

I own both.....

Right now, the solid and the pearl are my primary balls in my sport shot league, where we’re currently bowling on a 43’ pattern. The two balls compliment each other well, when the solid starts checking up early as the mids start to go, the Pearl makes for a fairly seamless change.

Check out Tamer’s reviews of the Statements. I think he nails it, so I’m not going to repeat what he says. Just be aware that these are big engine powerful Asyms. Some bowlers love this kind of ball. Others will hate. I like the Statements on longer patterns with volume. They never go with me to my THS league. As always, it’s style and condition specific.

Thanks Steven. I enjoy Tamer's reviews usually and have already checked. He's definitely impressed with them. I also like to watch Curlie Becton on the bowlingball.com reviews since he throws a bit like me. I don't normally match with Hammer, but seeing both of those is what got my interest. I was leaning toward Ebonite Choice solid, but I think this one is calling my name. Between it and the Crux Prime now for the asym, spot in my Nationals bag.....
Appreciate your feedback....

I have the Ebonite Choice Pearl and love it. It's strong, but a different shape from the Statement Pearl. I had a great look with it in Team at Nationals. And I do carry the Choice Pearl to my THS league. It's very versatile.

It's been tempting to pick up the solid Choice, but I think it's too much ball for what I see most of the time, even on sport. Still, I'll probably figure out some excuse to get one.  :)

Interesting. Even though you don't have the Choice Solid, any thoughts on whether you'd choose Choice or Statement solid?

I also always go Storm/RG. Just my opinion but if looking to try a few EBI products, my votes would be for any of these.

BW Pink
Statement Pearl
Triton Elite
Web
Black Vibe
Choice Pearl
Current Rotation:
PhysiX
Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl
Phaze III
Trend
IQ Tour

Can't absolutely answer that without throwing the 2 side-by-side. I'm happy with the Statement Solid, which makes me reluctant to get the Choice, because there will be a lot of overlap.

Still, the research I've done suggests the Choice Solid might be a little more responsive to down lane friction than the Statement Solid. Much the way I've found that Choice Pearl is more responsive to down lane friction than the Statement Pearl. One reaction is not necessarily "better" than the other. It's about having choice (no pun intended) based on conditions. That might provide the justification I'm looking for.

Strongest ball I'VE ever owned by far. Have heard nobody who owns one complain. Not your typical solid ball reaction, it just keeps coming and continuation is sick!!

The Statements for me have been some of the BEST Asym Equipment I've thrown. The Solid is very versatile (I have 2) and has been a workhorse for Tournament and benchmark for league. Its strong, but not unusable so long as you have some puddle up front. Debating a 3rd with a weaker layout to be more THS usable.

The Pearl is the most backend motion ive seen since ive been on staff. I can definitely continue to chase inward and get the ball to recover. Hammer hit 2 home runs with these pieces

one of my teammates (a lefty) has the statement solid.  ball is just money for this guy.

For heavy oil, he has used the statement and PhysiX this season.  both are good but for him the statement has that extra "oomph" off the spot.

Thanks. Seeing feedback from a lefty (even though a partner) who throws multiple brands carries a lot of weight with me....

Lefty here, little north of the 50 mark myself.
Have the Statement Pearl which I used on the minors pattern at Nationals
I'm a bit heavy handed with matched rev rate and speed
It was very good for my singles set, I did have it at 2000 dull though
I have the Ripd and this is a far better piece IMO
It was said above, the more you move in with it, the more it keeps coming
And if it doesn't read the lane quite right, you can always adjust the surface
Great piece for me, I see a bunch of scores being shot with the Statement series pieces
