Hawg Zilla: Initial thoughts / Mini-Review
« on: January 20, 2007, 01:54:50 PM »
Hey BR and Hammer Family,

Well, I got a hold of a used Hawg-Zilla from another fellow BR member (Thanks Barry - mrbowlingnut). I don't have pics posted up yet, but here is what the layout looks like.

Pin next to ring finger with CG stacked below and kicked a pinch towards the grip. Current ball surface is 2000 abralon. By the way, 2000 abralon almost looked polished! Kinda cool actually.

I was very surprised by this ball. Not a flippy ball at all, but reads the mids decently on Medium-Heavy oil and has a hard continuous arc to the pocket. I can't wait to try a diff surface prep on it, but I like the way it is right now. I shot 8 games with it today in a tournament and so far I like what I see.

I also acquired a used Black Widow from mrbowlingnut with a pin over ring finger and MB just right of thumb. Surface prep is 2000 abralon with Ebonite Factory Polish over it. This ball goes longer and bites off the dry harder and naturall off they dry in a polished state.

Great job Hammer and I'll report more as I get more games on these balls. Plus comparison video coming soon.

Regards,
Ram
