Do you think the black widow solid is a good medium heavy oil ball?

Medium...great
Medium/Heavy...not so great but not bad

I would agree. The bite can handle a bit more oil than the solid. If you take the cover down, it can handle even more but you need to make sure you have a high pin to make sure you still have some backend.
