Hammer Three Ball Arsenal

The Real Deal or Big Deal? – Heavy to Medium Oil
Blade Reactive (already own) – Medium Conditions
Sling Blade – Medium to Dry

I’ve been thinking about this for a strong Hammer three ball arsenal. Is the Real Deal a good heavy oil ball? I’ve looked at the new big deal too but I threw a Big Blue at a Hammer Demo Day and didn’t really like the reaction of the Gas Mask Core but maybe with a different coverstock and added flip-block it would be better. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Ab,

Those sound like good choices for a Hammer arsenal. Everything I've heard and read on the Big Deal is that the flip block and the Cut-Throat coverstock really match with the Gas Mask core. Judging by the numbers, you'll get a similar roll as the Blade Reactive with more performance in heavy oil. The Real Deal will roll sooner and give a great strong arc. So it's a toss-up unless you're a cranker and then I recommend the Real Deal. I you stroke it more, then go Big Deal.

The Sling Blade is a darn good ball for medium to light oil.

Sounds like a sound strategy.

I wish a Hammer Challenge would stop close by again so I could really find out what I would like to look into getting. If anyone ever has a chance to go to Hammer's Demo Day I definitely would. Last time I went was right after the Big Blue was released and I really thought about getting one but after going to the Demo Day I was far more impressed by the Blade and Vicious lines. The Blade line’s performance for price ratio was very impressive.

my hammer arsenal

Blade Particle
Vicious Strike
Blade Pearl
Switch Blade

I never encounter HEAVY oil, so my OIL ball is the Blade Particle.

Real Deal
Blade Solid
Sling/Switch blade

I prefer the blade series with the flip block as compared to the ones without.

I think the Big Deal will be longer and stronger off the spot than the Real deal.  The real Deal is GREAT for the average rev guy.

From what I've seen, the Real Deal is just that: a real oil ball.  It can really handle a flood well.

If you like the look the Sling Blade gives you on medium oil(goes a little longer and turns a little stronger) then the Big Deal will probably give you a similar look on heavier oil.
