I have 2 Hot Sauce balls and I'm not happy with either of them. First one is drilled pin next to ring finger, cg in line to the thumb hole. Second is drilled pin next to ring finger, cg out to left some. Both slide too much if I pull it in the oil ever so slightly and grab too much if I get them out in the dry too soon. And I've never seen so many 10 pins with any other ball.
What have any of you done to the surface on this ball? I've tried 1500 polish and sand with 2000 Abralon and neither worked very well. HELP before I get rid of these two duds!!

That was the problem I had with Ebonite for about 10 years. I don't currently own any Ebonite, but do own stuff they pour. I think sometimes you just don't match up well with certain covers/additives. The V2 particle was a great example for me. Way too early/too strong for medium oil, but did very little on real oil. Even when I hit the pocket, unless it was nut flush, it was a flat 10.

well you have both of them drilled pretty similar to each other from the way you described it. Why don't you plug one and drill it completely different and see how it rolls

i agree with justanotherlefty805 why dont you drill both of them something other than pin next to ring pin next to ring tends to be over under get in the dry over hook keep it in the oil not turn the corner

Why would you buy 2 then?

TOON,
Everything is relative to your axis point. You may want to have your pro shop operator take it and see what position the pin is in.
Normally but not always this type of layout makes the bowling ball so strong that it actually bleeds most, if not all of its energy as it goes down lane thus when it encounters friction to normally start changing direction it has nothing left to actually do so.
I agree with JustAnotherLefty, have one plugged up and talk to your pro shop operator about the kind of ball reaction you are desiring. The Hot Sauce for me was a blend of archy with some flip. Hope this helps! God Bless!

Toon I totally agree with you, the hot sauce really does suck. The ball constantly hangs a lot of ten pins when crushing the pocket. I'm a pure cranker carrying a 206 avg. with a lot of hand and speed around 17 mph. The ball can be a little unpredictable with it's break point back to the pocket currently it is sitting in my bag collecting dust. I have a potential buyer and I can't wait to get rid of it.
The ball I'm currently throwing right now is the mission w/ a polish and I have to admit, it's a damn fine piece of bowling equipment and a must have if you haven't acquired one yet.

I would be interested in buying or trading either of you guys for one of those hot sauce's if you cant figure out how to line up with them

Hey Maverick, who are you? I am a shop operator and I'll admit I havent kept up with drilling layouts for a couple of years, divorce will kill interest i just about everything. Thats why I am here asking questions.
Maybe I'll plug one up, I'm going to try the 500 w/polish tonight. I have someone thinking about the other ball, maybe I'll sell it.
I have two because I got a good deal on one, then found a second for even less. I had heard so many great things about this ball that I thought I would really like it, so I have two. Shouldn't every man have two?
