How is the Hammer Gauntlet? Any cover issues?
« on: June 13, 2018, 06:17:01 PM »
Im thinking of getting the Gauntlet.  How does the cover hold up? Any issues?  Havent seen alot of reviews or anything on this ball which is suprising since it seemed to be a decent ball.  Any info woud be appreciated. Thanks

The coverstock durability is fair (better than expected for a hammer ball). I will say that it does lane shine significantly after a dozen or so games. It is pretty much a heavy oil ball OB but it turns into more of a medium-heavy oil ball or even medium oil ball with use. Once lane shine occurs, it handles less volume but you will get a cleaner ball with a stronger backend.

This cover holds up quite well - if you clean it after each use. if you just let it absorb oil and don't take care if it, then it will be just like any other hook monster. You will then need to get it de-oiled. No issues here after 150+ games
