So as some of you know, I have (had) 4 NIB Hammer Bowling balls sitting in my room. (Black Widow, 4D, Blue Vibe, Raw Doom)
I decided to punch up the Black Widow, just because from what I had heard it might suit me well, but also could be a tad jumpy on the back end for me.
Anyways had it drilled with the pin to the left of the ring finger, (lefty) cg stacked below, MB below the thumb and slightly to the right of the thumb hole, with an xhole drilled very shallow lined up with the CG at the mid grip line, but out towards the side of the ball.
I bowled on my tough shot league tonight where I am averaging a 183. I had back to back weeks of 667, 656 using my Super Beast playing up and in. I can't really explain the shot, it's something you would have to experience, but on most nights I have NO ROOM.
I threw three shots in practice, and each shot the ball didn't move. I was like nice I just spent money to have a ball drilled I can use for spares.
I then started practicing with my Red Zone, which gave me a decent look, but I was determined to use the BW.
I made a slight release adjustment, and the ball started moving. Not like everyone has said how it's a KILLER on the back end, but a nice smooth arc to the hole.
I decided to use it to start. I shot 224 the first game with no opens. The 2nd game, I go 8/ XXXXXXXX get up in the 10th, miss my mark by about an inch, come in a tad high leave a 6 pin. I then whiffed the 6 pin for a 257 lol. I would have had to carry the first 2 to win money anyways, but still, it was frustrating.
3rd game I was 3 sheets to the wind. I ended up shooting 197 with 2 open frames.
224, 257, 197-678 Highest Series of the year at this house, yes I've been struggling that badly.
The ball is sooooo smooth, it reacts like a Stronger Urethane, which is AMAZING for my game.
I wish I would have punched this up earlier. In all honesty if I don't shoot 800 with this ball somewhere, most likely not this league, I don't know what I'd do.
