  • I have a name, therefore no preferred pronouns.
So shouldn't your screen name be Hammered instead of Stormed? 😁

I am actually really excited for these, for me, my Fugitive Pearl was just a bit too strong for its intended purpose, still like it, but it just overlaps with some other things in my bag. The higher RG and lower differential on these I feel will work really well with that Juiced cover and give a good amount of control, even with some board coverage.

Ahhhhhhhhhh!

This is a Hammer Reboot! This is one of my all time favorite Hammer cores of all time!!!

I used to have two Raw Hammer Dooms that I absolutely LOVED! Previous to this past Thursday, I had shot my highest series ever with those DOOMS! Now, they're back!

Good job Hammer!

I'm tempted to get these for my kids, but I have a question for everyone before I seriously pull the trigger.

My son currently is throwing a 10lb Ebonite Destiny Hybrid. While having him go to 11lbs will definitely help him, I worry about the lack of a core in the 10-11lbs balls. The Destiny Hybrid from 10lbs and up all have core and coverstocks, while for the Raw Hammer series, they would be coverstock only, with no core. How would the lack of the core affect the performance of the ball?

For my daughter this wouldn't be an issue, as she's basically coming from a White Dot, so any cover (solid, hybrid, pearl) would be an improvement. But I am definitely wondering about how the lack of core would affect the ball's performance.

Any insights, anyone?

Lack of a comparable core is huge in my opinion. As Mo Pinel always said, the core is what really dictates ball motion!

Without a core, you might not be able to teach how to hook a ball properly. Just saying.

Good point. I may give his ball to her and see if he's ready for 12lbs. He might be..

Without knowing your son I would say move him to 12 unless he is really struggling with the weight of the 10.  If he doesn't have any problem with the ten he may notice the extra weight for a very short while.  It's been a long while but I can remember when I asked my dad if I could use the other ball in his bag to bowl a couple games  when I went with him to league one night.  Went from fourteen and conventional to sixteen and fingertip that night.  Assuming your kid is still growing and would eventually need to move up in weight anyway.

Yep.. PSO said it as well, the Destiny Hybrid is getting light for him and to move up. So that's exactly what we'll be doing. He could stay with the hybrid and go Raw Hammer Hybrid, or go solid. He isn't at the point where he needs to be concerned about layouts, so we may just go with the hybrid and call him good.

My daughter is ready to move up as well, but I think she'll go with the pearl. I'd offer to plug and redrill the Destiny Hybrid, but she'd be better off in her own new ball (she's in an 8lb White Dot) so my son can fall back on the Destiny Hybrid if needed.

Thanks, all!
