Poll: Matte or Pearl or Partical

Which do you prefer and why???

I only have matte balls and they are awesome. My first pearl ball will be the Black Widow Pearl. =)

Matte: more reaction.  Solid/pearls are also nice.  There's always a way to compromise.

You didn't put "particle" in your poll.

I fixed it. What is the difference in a Partical and a Resin ball? Is the NV a partical??

LQQK at the ball.  It should be easy to tell what type of coverstock it has.

"Matte or Pearl or Partical"

If I might offer a little clarification ...

There are 2 basic kinds of balls: solid resin and pearlized resin.
Either can be matte (another word for "dull") or polished.

Either can have particles embedded in them. Particles sort of "convert" them into either solid particle balls or pearlized particle balls.

Basically Bowling seems to have accepted these as making 4 basic ball types:
solid resin, pearlized resin, solid (resin) particle amd pearlized (resin) particle. (When we talk about particle balls, we usually leave out the resin part becayse 99% are resin with particles embedded in them. At one point in time there were a couple of urethanes with particles in them.)

Any of those four types can be dull/matte finished or polished and polished to almost any degree.

I didn't want to complicate an issue that could already be very confusing, but thanks. (There's also solid/pearl particles. )

...and all of them can be polished or sanded (imagine)!

After all, this is a free country.

When you think of all the factors that determine a bowling ball you end up thinking for a long time:

Coverstock
Particle Load
RG minimum
RG maximum
RG differential
Symmetrical/asymmetrical
COLOR!
Pin distance
Polished/sanded
And don't get started with drilling layout possibilities.

Right now I'm loving my Razor blade. Its right at 800, and is a pearl particle. This thing rolls amazingly. Second to that, I'd have to say scuffed up pearls.
