Title: is that the bite on the show?
Post by: six pack on December 16, 2007, 03:15:06 AM
I thought Oatman was throwing the widow but I noticed some white/silver streak in it.

Were we watching a different show? Is your (or my) TV working properly?

That ball looked blue...not green...I guess we'll see later today on PBA.com...

And by the way, why are you so uppity? Calm down...geez!

ON EDIT: Plus, it would make sense for Billy to throw a BBP -- it uses the older Gas Mask core with a weaker cover than the one on the BWP, giving him a smoother ball reaction with a similar roll, something that might have been quite nice for the lanes...alas, that was not to be.

By the way. TV cameras have a hard time picking up certain colors. Thats also the reason they change the color of billiard balls for TV.

Oddly enough, the ball P.A. was using, at times, appeared to have the green ICE logo and at other times looked to be something else.

Electricity was out here early, so I didn't get a look at Oatman's stuff, and that is too bad because I have the original vicious particle under my bed ( cracked ) and it really is pretty easy to identify.  Looks a lot like the green/yellow tropical storm without any pearl.

Before the show started, they had all the players line up on the approach holding a ball.  It was clear that PA was using a Raid as that was the logo showing as the camera passed him.  Black Ice nowhere to be seen.  Plus, not sure a Black Ice would outhook a Twisted Fury as PA was playing noticibly deeper than Parker.

Don't feel too bad... The Immortal Solid is a black and yellow ball, but because a lot of blacks are actually dark greens and purples the IS looks green and black...

Don't forget, blue and yellow do make green.

I thought PA was using a Tornado at first.. Green pin and green cg, shorter distance.. Then I saw GB 10.7 V on the side and definatly was a raid then..

As for the Green ball Oatman was throwing, I guarantee it was a Vicious Particle Solid as well.. I actually saw the Vicious logo on the ball..

It was a Big Blue Pearl BLEM that Billy was throwing.  There is a lot of yellow and very little blue.  I suppose it does get a bit of a green tint at some points.  He bowls the Central region in the summer and he started bring that with him last July/August.

That's too funny!  I tend to think it rolled like a ball that didn't match up with the pattern.  It's a blem because of the colors.

I was at the telecast so I did get to see what was being thrown but I'm with a lot of you...No way i would have said BBP.  I thought it possible but in person...that ball was green and yellow.  No way did it look even slightly blue.  PA used a Bash a good bit in practice and Rhino used an Agent up until the final practice before his match.  Havent seen the actual telecast but man that place was small.  Hoping it looked larger on tv but it was TINY!!!

I thought the BBP was a solid blue color... since when did they come with yellow swirls? Or is it because it wasa "blem." There is NO WAY from watching at home that I would have guessed Oatman was using a BBP.

What does "roll like a blem" mean?  On the right lane, he had an excellent look.  He wasted enough brain power trying to figure out the left that it probably affected the way he threw it after a while.
