Jigsaw vs Black Widow Sting
« on: July 04, 2009, 06:54:01 AM »
Which is supposed to handle more oil. I saw they both have big backend and should be heavy oilers, but where do they differ. I know the cores are different and the coverstock as well, but which is the more agressive of the two? I know neither ball has come out yet, but I am looking to purchase either of these to replace my VG.

Hmm..Lets see what I have in this bag...some magic, some hot sauce, a rogue cell,a liberator, and a saw.. how can I loose....

....HG-300(2006 w/Desert Heat)...299 (03/15/09 w/Agent Orange)...HS-776 (Hot Sauce Pearl & Ebonite Magic)

I got the chance to see both of these balls do down the lane at Ebonite's showcase.Jigsaw reads the midlane sooner than sting and is very continous. The numbers are very close to a Virtual Gravity and the motion is very similiar. The sting is cleaner through the fronts and more angular on the back. Both of these balls looked great.I think the jigsaw and sting would be a great 1-2 punch.

The STING will not handle the oil as well as the JIGSAW.  They have different motions down the lane with STING being more ANGULAR. If you are looking toreplace your VG i would suggest the JIGSAW over the STING. The hitting power of both balls is unremarkable but the JIGSAW is a better fit.

Does this picture change if you put the same surface on both balls?

Early reads here are the Sting for THS and JIGSAW for Tournament. However, those looking for a rev-hard arc ball in the hammer line should look no further than the JIGSAW. Full review forth coming!
