what's coming soon?
« on: January 18, 2007, 11:31:28 PM »
Does Hammer usually have a new release in the beginning of the year?  I know everyone has been waiting on the BW pearl but what else is in the works?

I would really like to see a symmetrical Particle ball.  Hopefully they make a particle Raw Hammer.  That would be awesome!

I think the biggest void in the Hammer line is actually at the opposite end of the spectrum. I really can't sell the Vibe as a dry lane ball. I'd really like to see Hammer develop a line for the "entry level" bowler in mind and for the bowlers who need more length than the Vibe offers.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Vibe and it sure fills a need for many bowlers. But I'd be able to sell even more Hammer product if they had something similar to the Tornado/Scout/R lines...nice enough looking for the recreational bowlers and kids stepping up to reactive from plastic, enough length for speed challenged bowlers, yet enough performance for drier/late shift types of lane conditions, travel leagues and tournament shots that need to be conquered also. Not all of us want to (or are able to!) loft the inside gutter cap.

What do you say, Hammer? I'd rather sell Hammers "Punches" than Tornados and Scouts! <hint hint>

Hey all,

Don't expect anything for the rest of the bowling season from Hammer.  They are very pleased with the sales of the Doom, Toxic, Black Widow, and No Mercy and continue to ride on their coattails for the rest of the season.

I am in the know on this one.

Hammer seems to be the only ball company that really gets this. I mean, Hammer comes out with a great ball, the Black Widow, and it is just a tremendous seller for them. It is still selling for them, so why come out with another ball, or the Widow Pearl that was rumored to come out a few months ago, that will just disturb the great sells that they are still getting from the original BW? They're smart. Look at Ebonite... Come out with a new hot seller, The One. Then they pretty quickly came out with the next ball in that line with The Big One. I think that they should have waited for The One to cool down in sells before they even thought about bringing out the next ball in the line. They already have what out? 4 balls in that line? Barely been a year really. So I do give my props to Hammer for this!

^^^^^Agree with both of you guys.

Everybody complains that the manufacturers are killing the industry  by releasing too many new balls, but then everybody comes on here and asks "whens the new ball for company X coming out?"

Both the Toxic and No Mercy are fairly new releases - why do they need to put out another ball?  Just because Ebonite and Brunswick have new balls doesn't mean Hammer needs to rush another ball out to the market.

It is certainly interesting.  I have had the same conversation about this with Brian Graham as far back as when he was a rep for Columbia.  We always agreed on this sales technique and now Hammer is putting it to use.  I love it.  There was a day that most companies did this.

We all have Brunswick to thank for this. I'll never forget being told at a seminar way back when that Brunswick's goal was to "start the merry go round" spinning faster and faster (in regard to new ball releases) so that all the smaller companies like Storm (HSP) and Nu-Line (Xcalibur) wouldn't be able to keep up and they would disappear.

We will not see anything new in the Hammer line until this summer. Isn't the stuff we have now good enough? The current line is still selling like CRAZY!

I agree.  Why should Hammer bring out a new ball when the other releases are selling like crazy.

I just wish they would have made a particle ball with the Doom core.  The TOXIC release just didn't make any sense to me.

I have the TOXIC and it's a very good ball.  So i'm not knocking it's perfromance.  I'm just surprised they didn't wrap a particle cover around it.
