New releases and Bowl Expo
« on: May 03, 2006, 10:52:13 PM »
This seems to happen every year, so instead of me posting it a zillion times, I will make one topic and leave it at that.

The new Hammer releases will be unveiled at Bowl Expo, as they are every year.   The balls hit the approved list in April/May, but will not be released until June, at Bowl Expo.

www.bowlexpo.com

This topic is meant to be informative.   I just didn't want to have to keep copy and pasting my responses, like Chitown does on the DOOM.

anotherwindup thanks for posting this.  It does make things easier.  We could probably keep this on the first page for a while.

I heard from PAP that he will be receiving the Black Widow at the end of this week.  Now keep in mind he is in Sweden so I'm not sure if that release will be part of the bowl expo balls.  I also don't know if that will be an overseas release.

Hammer is on the ball with the new releases from the info that has been shared.  The juice reactive with the Doom core.  That ball is going to be awesome.

I got a question, i was reading somewhere that the black widow has the gas mask core in it, but not sure of the cover, so how will this stack up to The Big Deal. Im interested in this one becuz i jus wanna know how it stacks up. The pain is already on my To Buy Immediatly list.

Black widow has the gas mask core with a flip block.

The cover is the difference, I believe.

I have heard that the Widow has BITE.   No, seriously, it is going to be goooooooooooood.    As soon as I get mine and punch 'em, I will update the forum.

thanks

I checked the approved list over at bowl.com. Here is just about everything (excluding what has already been released) that has come up in 2006:

Black Widow
Boss Hawg
Devil (Teal-violet)
Galaxy Harv
Hammer Polyester
Hawg Zilla
Nasty Blade
Raw Hammer Pain
Raw Hammer Result
Road Hawg Max
Switch Blade (Blue-black)
Ultra Mega X
Vibe (Blue)
X5
X7

Obviously, some of these are overseas and others are just testers that will never make it out, but some of these are sure to be seen at the expo. I wonder if the X5 and X7 are part of the new line that we're hearing about. Should be interesting.

I spoke to Brian Graham with Hammer yeaterday and he said they are really excited about the Black Widow, Raw Hammer Pain and the Blue Vibe. He said the Black Widow is the first ball in the line thats taking over the Diesel series. He also told me the blue Vibe has the same coverstock as the Hawg Wild. It will be much less over/under then the original Vibe is. The new Raw Hammer Pain will hook alot more than the original red Raw Hammer and have the juiced reactive coverstock that the Road Hawg currently has.

He also told me that early reviews of this ball by Tony Reyes and Doug Kent are really good..

The black widow will outhook the big deal by quite a bit according to the specs of both balls..

according to brian at hammer, it has the strongest backend reaction of any ball hammer has ever released..

jason,

How do they look in person? Is the black widow solid black with just a black widow on it? Is the pain dull or shiny? is the vibe actually blue in color?

Let us know..

JK

Yes, could someone please describe the Black Widow?  Or even better post pics of it?

I am fan of the plain colored balls like the PURE Hammer  I was wondering if this was solid black with a red spider on it.  That would be pretty sweet.

On the solid color front, Columbia 300 is coming out with a solid black Scout Reactive which is pretty exciting.
