Full Roller NoMercy.
« on: December 13, 2006, 01:00:34 AM »
Do we have any full rollers tossing the NoMercy? Local centers owner is a lefty full roller and wants to try a NoMercy possibly. This guy is a good full roller, high average, good speed, and revs. If you know of any, is it drilled as per #5 layout with heart above ring and pin at 7:00 ?   Thanks, Al

One of my teammates is a full-roller and just bought a NM.

He has the pin just to the left of the thumb (RH) and the HART is just right of the ring finger.  That is not the same as #5.

MI 2 AZ,    How does he like it compared to some of his other stuff? Stronger overall, more move on the back, or smoother ,   better hit and carry ?....Full rollers have limits on layouts and need a matchup on balls somewhat more specific than us 3/4 guys that can use several different layouts to match up.

alzgarvin, he just got it and used it for the first time last week.  He did not bowl tonight, so I dont know how it has been reacting for him in his other league.  The ball he was using before was a Total Annihilation and that ball was the best he had owned/used to date.  Also may have been the first that was drilled with the pin next to the thumb, instead of near the fingers.  I will ask him by email to read this topic (as far as I know, he doesnt have an account here yet) and if he replies back to me, I will let you know his answer.

Hi,

I have a No Mercy and I am a full roller, let me take a shot at some of your questions…

Drill Layout:  The full roller pattern is not 1 thru 5 but rather has a layout of it’s own as MI 2 AZ explained.  I did not change anything fancy on the layout, the only thing I changed was the HART on the ring finger.  For a full roller the HART should be to the right of the ring finger at about (if using a clock) at approx the 2-2:30 position.  I have mine at the 3:00 position.  It is not much of a change based on the full roller layout and if I believe the guy who drilled my ball it rolls slightly longer.  This works for me as I like it rolling a bit longer down the lane

Lane Action/My Opinion: If you’re going to use this ball on dry/semi dry lanes…good luck, you’re going to have a hard time keeping it on the outside no matter how far to the left you go.  This ball was made for lanes with oil.  The lanes I bowl in are semi wet for about two games till it breaks down, when they break down I move to the left more and roll thru the oil a bit more and I am good.  When going thru oil it glides real well and when it hits the back end it will come back very hard.   In my opinion there is a misconception out there about the no mercy and oil; to me it seems that some people are angry that the No Mercy does not hook hard thru the oil.  To be honest (again in my opinion) no ball does that, it is all up to the bowler, but I digress, I get great pin action when I hit near the pocket and there have been times I have gotten strikes due to great pin action since getting the No Mercy.
I have used this ball for about a month so far and I truly can’t compare this ball to the other balls (Mo-Rich products) I have simply because there is no comparison in my opinion.  I have confidence that the ball is going to come back.  The lefty you’re talking about will love the No Mercy as there are not (typically) many lefties in a league so he will have a nice steady line he can use throughout the night to bowl in.
Again I know this sounds like I am saying that No Mercy is the greatest thing since sliced bread, I can only tell you how the No Mercy reacts for me.  The No Mercy rolls great and comes back hard.  A great ball….
