What do those who own the Sauce think of it? I'm looking to buy one next week and use it as my oil ball.

When the right condition comes along, which usually, in the places I bowl at, the guy oiling the lanes tends to get a little bit overboard than what the shot usually is at times, The Sauce is the perfect ball for the job. I'm very impressed with it. Would highly suggest this ball for bowlers looking to play on a heavier house pattern or with low revs. I've only used this ball about 5-10 times at most, if that, this season.

I was really disappointed in the ball. For the 180$ price from my shop, and how well it rolled, it really disappointed me. I put it to 500 abralon and hot water bathed it for 30 minutes, turned it over for another 30 minutes with grease cutting soap and hot tap water, but the ball still didn't show its' true life back.

You can take down the surface to 500 on an aggressive ball and expect it to perform.  With that much surface the ball will only roll out and never hook. No high performance ball should be lower then 1000 grit and that's on heavy oil conditions

Ebonite Magic... The new cover on this thing absorbs less oil, and is more durable then any other ebonite ball on the market. I have 200+ games on my magic, and I don't have a nick on it, and also no loss in reaction. Hammer Hot Sauce has 145 games on it, going strong as well. The new ebonite stuff is made with an emphasis on longevity. Try out the magic!

Hmm..Lets see what I have in this bag...some magic, some hot sauce, a rogue cell,a liberator, and a saw.. how can I loose....

Sure hope you put it back to 4000 grit after the hot water bath because at 500 grit it will never react like oob. The only reason I state this is because this step is left out by alot of bowlers I see who say the ball will still not react  after oil extraction. They do not put the ball back to the grit level being originally used.

If you want hook and longevity try a Ebonite Magic. Loved this over my Sauce and Virtual Gravity.

I have over 270 games on my Break Solid without resurfacing no problems with reactions and also have over 100 games now on my Break S75 without any problems.  Not all Oil balls die...  This is why I stopped using ebonite and hammer a while ago as it seemed everything just dies after a certain period and got tired of it.

I've had my Sauce for a month and it hasn't let up one bit yet. It is still at the OOB finish and I clean it after every time I play it. It goes long and then snaps into the pocket. Great ball, after seeing the reviews on heavy oil balls it seems like some do break down over time. But, you can bring them back with the proper restoration procedures.

I had a very good year with mine. Bought it in late October while struggling at 185 on what seemed to be heavier than normal oil. I kept it at 1000 abralon  and did 1 oil extraction in Jan. Finished season at 210. Shot 727 the last night missing 2 easy spares. I think it was worth every penny I paid. Usually use Storm stuff but I didn't know they were coming out with the VG when I bought it.

John,

I was thinking of dropping the cover on mine down a bit to make it more aggressive in the oil. How is yours at 1000?

I picked one up in February, OOB the reaction was a real nice sharp turn, I'm a high speed guy and this worked real we,ll.  Currently I'm shootin on a serious high oil volume and the Sauce has done great. Have averaged in the 210 range ever since and have made my money back on it 3 fold.  I have brought the surface down just a bit and is still snappin nicely.

I was really happy with mine at 1000.I tried it at 2000 first but it was going a little to long before it hooked. I'm a lower speed, medium rev lefty. Of the 2 houses I bowl in the one I use the Sauce in uses more oil. I'm not an expert on drillings but mine is drilled with the pin(3") about 1 1/2" left of the ring finger, the cg just left of the center of the grip and a weight hole. Ball hits hard but also carries the light hits.
