Rayzr, how weak?
« on: October 30, 2008, 03:34:31 AM »
Just wondering for the Hammer Heads that have thrown this ball, just how weak is it?

Looking for something to play somewhat straight up the track area on a medium-light oil, medium length house shot.

Is this ball a Yay or a Nay?

I don't have many games on mine but I seem to like the reaction so far. I was playing up the track area on a 41' shot after about 6 games I went to this ball. Very clean through the front with a nice move on the back. I was looking for the same thing as you and so far it seems like this is the ball.

great going up the boards when there fried but for me it don't want to make that turn if i had to move in but it's great on bad lanes cause i could tuick my pinky and stay behind it and over power the dry lanes on a house shot

Great ball, worth every dollar. Great on a fresh shot up the boards, if you've got some dry to come off of. Mine will hit on the soft side if doesn't have some dry to come off of to drive to the pocket.

On something pretty burnt up, it's great. I love the ball.

I'm using mine on a second shift league where the lanes are toasted. Tried using more agressive equipment and everything else was making the turn too early and too strong. The Razyr fit the bill perfectly. Doesn't overreact as much as balls with agressive weight blocks. It still hooks if you hit the ball, just not as over/under.

One thing I find is if I don't keep hand through the ball it leaves a lot of corner pins.

If you are on a fresh medium to light shot I'd suggest something different.

my friends razyr is pretty strong. it goes long but when it hits friction it definatly kicks left hard.

not what I would call a dry lane ball... more of a ball you would pick up to clear the heads and delay the breakpoint.

This ball will be what you are looking for... I use this ball for our 9pm travel league & 9pm scratch league and have thrown a 803 & multiple high scores with this ball. This ball is super clean through the front part of the lane (even on the desert) and has a very smooth reaction in the mids & back ends. It allows me to play further right than most other balls, but this ball can turn the corner better than any other 3 piece ball that I have thrown in the past.

This ball is ALWAYS in my bag going forward as I see this ball being a great tourney & sport condition ball.

Great job Hammer on the combination of the coverstock for this ball.

You will definately love this ball. I must have ball for the tournament bowler!

I'll make a comment on this post.. once I get home from school. Lol

I'll say one thing, though. This ball is definitely stronger than most might think.

This ball is not weak (I have around 500 rpms, two hander), I've thrown around 10 shots with it just messing around with my buddies, the ball has a hard backend and hooks a lot more than I thought it would, only thing thats not the best is carry, left a lot of 10's (lefty) 7's, 8's and a 6 pin in the pocket, the 6 pin was a tad light but shouldnt have left it.

Here's my view on my Razyr..

My Razyr is an absolute monster. I don't know why, but it is. The ball, for ME, is actually not that easy to get down the lane, and once it's down there, it moves and does not stop. Carry is far above average. The lanes have to have some decent amount of oil (medium-medium/light), but not have any carrydown. Any sign of carrydown, this ball will be your nice purple/pink shiney spare ball. I threw it on a broken down "flooded" shot, and it actually produced strikes and nice scores. For comparison, i'm pretty sure my Venom is drilled about 6 1/4" Pin x 6" MB - PAP, and the Venom even gets down the lane easier lol.

Hope this helps! Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Moores pro shop - this ball has no core, no pucks, no nothing. With this ball you get out exactly what you put in. Put some hand in it with some surface and it will move, polish it up playing up the back and you can shoot ten pins with it. But for me no matter how I shoot it it's always smooth and predictable.
