Just wondering if anyone has taken the polish off and kept it at 2000 or 4000 abralon?

Yup... on 2 of them I have - 1 at 2000 & the other at 4000
Me & polish on the bowling balls don't work well with me since I throw it too hard and I love a ball reads the pattern by starting up sooner with a much controled backend movement.
Give it a whirl... if you don't like it, you can always bring it back to the original surface 4000 with Factory Finish polish.
Have fun with this amazing ball.
