Plague is Sick!!!
« on: May 21, 2010, 12:32:28 PM »
Today at USBC Nationals in Reno, Bill Monce, Hammer's Midwest District Sales Manager, had 783 in team event with the Plague!  Ball was drilled with a 5 1/2" pin, and a mass bias kicked just right of the thumb hole.  Pin ended up just left of the centerline above the fingers.  No extra hole.  Out of the box at our 500/1000/2000 grit 3-stage finish.  Phenomenal score for USBC Team event!  This ball is sick!

get over it. it is what it is. doesn't make a difference who used what ball. it is usbc approved and it can be used. the end.

It appears that tburky was correct, even if not too polite.  I asked this same question to someone outside this website that CAN answer the question, and was told that it was O.K., and that if the manufacturers wanted to, they could make a limited run of balls for staffers only and that they could be used AS LONG AS THEY WERE USBC APPROVED.

So, it doesn't matter if everyone can get their hands on the technology or not, as long as the manufacturer has had it approved by the USBC.

Did he also use the Plague to bowl the rest of the events?

That 530 and 568 are equally as impressive.

My thoughts on this, for what it is worth is thus. Bill could have done this with just about anything. If a ball has a PUBLIC release date before or after the tourny starts, you are good to go. The problem here is USBC'S approval date and the PUBLIC release dates are different. Until the to dates (USBC & PUBLIC release dates) are the same, this will always be a issue with staffers...

JLS - I blame this on Obama....lol
