Purples Prices on Ebay
« on: November 22, 2019, 12:05:09 AM »
Not sure if some of you have seen the prices of Purples since the transaction, but they are starting to climb pretty high. Saw one going for about $190. It will be interesting to see the difference (if any) between the old Purples and the new ones poured by Brunswick.

I'm gonna hold out to see if the Black Widow Purple Pearl Urethane makes an appearance anywhere, then make the call.

But I will admit, I have seen a lot of balls on Ebay either skyrocket in price, or go very scarce...

Just noticed this bad boy.  Probably won't be easy to get a hold of though.

Yeah.. They actually did a compare between this and the Purple Pearl as well..

Holy crap makes more of a difference than I expected.  Still if need a ball that strong I shouldn't be throwing urethane but if urethane is your game that ball looks so sweet.  Can handle some volume yet doesn't need a flood up front and isn't so stupid early like the black.

Now you know why I'm chomping at the bit for it! Especially with the rumored (lack of a better word, it probably is official) rule about us not being able to use the older urethane gear going forward (read: Faball), so I'd be out a urethane piece. I haven't tried the BW Urethane yet, and while the Purple Pearl may be the only option to go right now, the BW Purple Pearl Urethane looks sick.

No way to tell, but if it was me, I wouldn't even consider anything less than $200.

Last one (15lb) I saw on ebay went for over that, PLUS shipping.

Heard it touted by the commentators who ran the QubicaAMF World Cup last week, and was relative to not being able to use any of the older urethane equipment starting in the next year.  I'll go find the right timeframe for it to get the details.

Not to change the subject but has anyone heard anything about when or even if any of the Mexican made EBI stuff will hit the market?

Nope. I live among several ex-EBI staffers and Ambassadors, and not a peep yet.

It's all speculation, but I imagine it's quite a process to begin manufacturing new balls for retail sale. I suspect lots of work remains to be done first for Brunswick to determine how EBI will be integrated and what subset of existing balls will be re-produced.

There is nothing current in the EBI line-up that I'm sweating over. The new Brunswick Phantom is a much more useful ball to me that my Purple ever will be.

I thought the long email sent out by the president(or some higher up) from Brunswick stated they would start producing ebi stuff in January.

There was no mention in the CEO letter with bowlers journal. It mentioned severance pay for employees through January 13th

Betcha that once the sale was known, he made sure he got 20 -30 of them in his garage/basement at home.
